He's a long way from being ready to play in a college game. The other QB in the class is a much better passer.

Not going to lie. This kid is really special. The one thing the OP has correct is that Malzahn will probably waste a substantial portion of his career sitting him behind Gatewood.

Sounds like someone is nervous about Auburn landing another quality QB.

Quality troll, but you’re right that the only good QBs Gus has had come from outside his program. The guys he recruits and develops himself are all garbage.

We all know how good Cam and Nick Marshall were before Gus got a hold of them. Gus's biggest problem has been recruiting good QBs, he solved that problem with Nix.

Cam = Brent Schaeffer 2.0, JUCO QBs never work out in the SEC, can't hit the broad side of a barn

Marshall = DB, more INTs than TDs in JUCO, can't hit the broad side of a barn

Wait for for our former QBs to have sons and hope they become elite prospects

Lucky for us, Stan White has one that should be about the right age by the time we are done with Nix. I actually have no idea how the kid is as a football player now, but 5 years ago Stan in to my work with his son after he picked him up from flag football practice. Kid was only 8 at the time I think but he was as tall and strong looking as the average 6th grader, and Stan said he played QB so I guess we'll see

Also, only another 15 years til Chosen Newton

Gus has had AU in the top two with some highly thought of QBs. One was bound to pay off.

Yeah, that mostly tongue in cheek But Stan White does have a son who's probably around 13 now and I did meet them after one of his practices, that part is true.

Chosen Newton.

Who would name their son Chosen?

Why?

Somebody who's son is a future Heisman Trophy and National Championship winning QB

Why would anybody name their kid Peter? You think your kid is the gatekeeper of Heaven itself? That's way more pretentious than Chosen
