Do the same analysis for Corey Grant and Kenyan Drake and a host of other RBs. Then call yourself a homer who doesn't understand the point of the thread and then apologize for wasting everyone's time.

Mason benefits from having a running qb. Harder for teams to key on him. You need to drop him down to 6.

Lack of a passing game balances that out doesn't it?

bullshite, you say this is on stats I post stats you call BS, I call this a BS process, sure I am a homer for Josey, do I think he is the best hell no, I would rank Yeldon, Gurley & Mason above him, think he is push with Davis. I forgot to compare stats to Hill so I will not comment on him. You said that "Honestly, there is no one else with a solid argument to be on the list." Sorry I brought some logic to your thread. All I am saying is he should be in consideration.

you posted stats to make Josey look favorable
as he has stated, yes on stats deciding. yards from scrimmage, yards per game, and TD's. Josey only falls in top 5 in td's

All relying on # of carries and targets, look he is not the best but should be in consideration. Stats are stats they are always in the eye of the beholder

Josey was still not clearly himself early in the season when Mizzou played all their non-con games. In the non-con, carries were pretty evenly split amongst our three backs. Murphy and Hansbrough both looked better and put up better stats than Josey.
Since conference play has started, Josey has looked by far the best of our backs and has gotten the lion's share of the carries. In conference play, Josey is fifth among SEC RBs in yards, 7th in rushing attempts, and tied for 4th in rushing TDs.

Davis alone kept Mizzou in the USC game, 2 fumbles, almost all his yards on screens which any back worth a damn can do vs Mizzou's D hell the Toledo back killed us on screens worst then Davis

Josey is averaging 82.7 ypg on 6.1 ypt.
The RBs on the list are producing at the same or similar amount per touch, but doing so for a minimum of 115 ypg.
That is a more than 30 ypg difference. Joesy isn't in the discussion with the backs on the list. He is in the next tier with guys like Collins, Williams, Drake, Neal, etc.

Since you are only basing on the tightly defined stats I can understand what you are saying, though there are holes in saying Top backs and only looking at such a tight window. I remember you had Gurley out when he was injured and I disagreed but you are consistent and I can appreciate that.

Josey fails IMO because he's not a power back....he can't make those big runs inside, he needs to run around the edge and needs open field to make his gains: the first tackle takes him down. Davis (as an example) has the speed to hit the home run gallops but the power to take on would-be tacklers and make them miss of leave them in the dust as he goes by....
Also how many receiving yds does Josey have this season?

The guy on top hasn't been healthy most of the year and still has just as much recieving as Davis. I know people like to point out how good he is out of the backfield but Gurley is not only a better Back but he is also a better reciever. I know WDE is based on production but a healthy Gurley is the best back in the nation...not just the SEC.

Josey has 9 receptions for 55 Yards and a TD, Mizzou backs are rarely if ever targeted, he leads the RB on Mizzou in receiving. As far as being a power runner, did not know that was a part of the equation. BTW Josey is a damn good goaline back, mostly due to his knack of his vision, though he has powered many TD's in this year. BTW I do think Davis a good back, though they are more even in talent then you would think.
