Yellow Dog is the term you're looking for.

This article has an interesting theory as to what is/was wrong with the South. LINK /

"The culprit behind “the germ of laziness,” as the South’s affliction was sometimes called, was Necator americanus—the American murderer. Better known today as the hookworm, millions of those bloodsucking parasites lived, fed, multiplied, and died within the guts of up to 40% of populations stretching from southeastern Texas to West Virginia. Hookworms stymied development throughout the region and bred stereotypes about lazy, moronic Southerners."

Arkansas falls right in line with this

I have always been happy living in the Southeastern United States and have lived here my entire life. Seems to me anyone who does not like it would simply leave. I sure as hell wouldn't try to stop them.

yet we have one of the country's top 10 places to live year-in-year out. A list you've probably NEVER even looked at as you know mississippi's place in the world- The formerly RICHEST state in the union, then the civil war happened, took all y'alls property like some kind of communist carpetbaggers, and now y'all da poorest, ammirite?

Is this somewhere where if a bunch of people are in one wal-mart at a time it becomes the biggest city in the state?

Vecchio, I'm sorry I had to lump you and Herman and Rohan and Drunkart and Summer and Aub86 and a few others in.

You all have immunity from any of my posts and I hope you know that. I hope you all know you are loved from the Harry Rex household. I also love that Ole Miss boy that had the girl base player from Drive By Truckers as his avi.

God bless you all.

Still touting a Southern Magazine article about cool places to live? Good luck with that

Would I prefer to live somewhere else? Someday I will. I'm looking at northern New Mexico but Mrs. Cane has always wanted a place on a beach
