I got distracted trying to find footage of Ole Miss in a SEC championship game.

I suspect most GA fans witnessed UGA win the SEC in 2017. If “anything” is the Mythical National Championship then Florida never won anything until 1996. SECC are objective, NC are subjective. The SECC is a much better mode of comparison considering the name of this board is the SEC Rant and it’s THE thread posters have in common. There is a trophy awarded every year by the governing authority based on a fixed criteria and on field results.

Authority is a shaky term for the now defunct BCS or the pageant voted playoff. There is no objective criteria. There’s the eye test. The same eye test that put AL as a 15 point favorite over FL this past weekend. That was clearly reliable and effective. You’ve got undefeated conference champions who didnt get to play for the NC (AU 2004) and multiple non conference champs with losses who did. Or two loss teams who did. (LSU 2007).

Interestingly enough, Florida has a four game losing streak to P5 teams. Maybe that’s why losses are being treated like wins?
