A few were on AJ for sure, but on a few plays they were in his face before he could turn around.

i kinda want to bump one of the threads about how big of a loss faulk was LSU loses faulk and the line plays better, bama plays wku and gives up 6 sacks it was clearly lack of effort just like ours vs north texas
Exactly. Playing UNT or WKU isn't the same as a big matchup against an OOC for. Not saying Washington was a big match up, but Michigan was for Bama. The team energy level was off the charts last week, but it's hard to get that ecstatic about a team that only recently made the jump from FBS.
It depends on who you're playing. Say bama plays LSU next week. The emotions would be at an all time high. Neither team will want to give up an inch. You would see your lines blocking exceptionally, you RB's getting their touches, and hopefully your Kicker missing FG's.
Is that how it should be? Absolutely not. I would want to see the same effort every week. However when I look at the stat line for bama something that stands out to me is 222 yds and 4TD's for AJ. I could care less what the running game did or didn't do if he puts up those numbers and the defense forces 5 turn overs.

I saw one that was AJ's fault. He held the ball forever.
I am not losing sleep over it, but I don't like watching the QB go down half a dozen times in a game. Esp when we don't have a backup with any experience.

Part of it was AJ holding onto the ball too long.

Y'all didn't even try to run the ball. When a team knows you're not gonna run, they pin their ears back.

The key to our whole season IMO is keeping AJ healthy. I'd hate to see him go down because a few players decided to take the week off.

So did Kouandjio. I think he and Fluker were stoned.

For the sacks, it was a variety of things from what I saw. There were a few sacks where the O-line was simply beat, but there were also a few when AJ kept the ball too long or the WRs weren't over. There may have been a lack of effort, but they are good.
As far as the running game goes, I am not that concerned. When you compared how they played against WKU to how they played against Michigan, you know they are good.

While I think Fluker is a good player, he is vastly overrated by Bama fans.

Fair enough. I'd feel the same if the situation was reversed. At the same time though AJ is going to be chewing his OLine out all week, and he doesn't you know Saban will.
LSU gave up similar sacks last week. They got chewed out by Mett, Miles, Faulk, and Stud. They didn't miss a block or even allow pressure to get to Mett all night last night. Only one TFL as well.
Against Arkansas I bet you see a similar result for Bama.

In 2007, per a former player, more than half the Michigan team were stoned and up all night before their game with App state.
If those two were really stoned

I have no doubt the team will show up and look great in the big games. I'd just like to see a little more effort in the cream puff games. Those games should be over at the half and the back ups should be in at the half.
Vs WKU McCarron didn't go out until 5 mins in the 4th. Once again, if he got injured Saban would be looking very foolish.

I agree. If Fluker was as good as advertised he wouldn't have been beat by a sophomore at left tackle. I think krispy kreme made Fluker lose a step.

He'd look the way he did in 2002. He didn't pull Mauk when we were up by like 49 over UF.
It might have cost us a chance to defend our SEC title. We had already been destroyed by VT at that point so the NC was out.

It was really strange watching AJ drop back and throw passes downfield up by 28 in the 4th. He was taking a beating. I don't know what he was trying to prove.

If we lose McCarron, it will be Blake Sims the rest of the way. I shudder at the thought.

The drop off after AJ is HUGE.

We would have our own personal Jordan Jefferson. How glorious.
