Per VolNation and confirmed by reliable poster on VolQuest:
Sad news if true. He’s All-American talent and will/would of been one of the best OL in the SEC this year. Without him we have 0 returning starters.

Okay, so I just got the scoop. I obviously don't want to name my source, but I'll tell you that it's one of Douglas's closest friends (and has been since high school). He says that Douglas got in some huge fight with his girlfriend on Friday, where he busted through a window after they kicked him out of the party for being too high/violent. When his girlfriend ran to her car to get away from him, he busted out one of her car windows...John Kreese-style. She and her roommates are trying to press charges.
It was also told to me that this is the least of his worries as weed is hardly his biggest problem right now. He's apparently got a hydrocodone problem that is unstoppable. Also, he just failed his fourth drug test since being with Tennessee. He failed two under Fulmer, and one last week. All of Douglas's friends tell him flat-out that he needs to straighten up and get a grip or he'll blow everything. Apparently, he just laughs whenever stuff like that is said to him.
As a skeptic, I totally get that I'm about to get ripped for posting this. I do apologize to no end if any of this information is incorrect. I just had to find out what was really going on since the info is so vague.
Somebody needs to shake this kid before he throws his life away. Dooley doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would put up with stuff like this.

was he one of Lane's boys?
That's what I thought at first too, but he couldn't because it said he failed a drug test while under Fulmer

Dad played under Fulmer (when he was OL coach) and mom played under Summitt on first NC team. Dad and Phil are good friends and promised him his first born son at birth. Douglas committed to the Vols early in High School (he started at TE on a HS team that won 72 games in a row). He Redshirted his freshman year under Fulmer and Kiffin moved him to Tackle last year (RSFR). He started half of the season and was our best lineman. He was first team All-American freshman and our only returning o-lineman.

Weed doesn't counteract roid rage.

I'm not a fan of UT or this kid... but it's always sad when someone with huge potential just pisses it all away

Things at UT are getting rediculous. First all of the football/gas station shite last year, then the basketball team's problems and now this. A pattern is definately setting in...

and a hydrocodone addiction is some serious shite

You have to wonder if this is for real or just made up to trash the guy because he is leaving. I am inclined to take it as very possible because, to my knowledge, the UT folk have not really gone to such lengths to trash someone who decides to leave (like Bryce Brown or Brandon Willis). Still, you can never really know.
