Couple of division titles and that was it.
Gruden is so over-hyped as an NFL coach. He only won his division 5 times in 11 years. How freakin' upset would we be if we only won the SEC East every other year?

Has there ever been a QB Gruden didn't like?

The overtures to Jon Gruden, a Super Bowl champion coach, the NFL’s most recognizable broadcast voice and one-time UT assistant coach in the 1980s, are very real and much further along than at any point in any of Tennessee’s previous courtships to the mega-star football mind.
Six different sources, ranging from current coaches to former all-time great Vols to college administrators, in the past 72-96 hours tell me that Gruden is far more seriously considering this Tennessee offer than ever before; so much so that Gruden is making some preliminary calls to coaches and other college athletics folks about potentially joining him in Knoxville.
Money is no issue; Currie very deliberately and wisely is the man behind this statement from Sunday’s press conference.

Im gonna laugh my arse off when Kacy Rodgers is standing at the podium. Vols will try and convince us that was who they wanted all along

Gruden has never coached in college and last was on a sideline 10 yrs ago?
I understand the Vols wanting to make a splash you better be damn sure this works out or the program will finally be dead.

I have nothing of worth to add to this conversation aside from the fact that Gruden constantly looks like a little kid who just farted and is trying not to laugh.

Love seeing the narrative shift from "No way he would ever coach at UT" to "He isn't a proven college coach".

I think we would match up to 6 mil. Anything after that and he's likely gone. But I would shake his hand on the way out. A successful coach leaves a program in better shape than it was when a arrived and he's done that. I think we would be fine, especially with Cohen callin shots.
Except that Mullen isn't going anywhere. He's not interested.
