Shriners raised $297K+, this weekend during the Shriners Baseball Classic. It was announced during the game tonight, the Vols fans donated the most money this weekend.

I am really blessed and thankful to be part of the greatest fanbase in the country.

Is this the stuff that teams with no ACTUAL championships celebrate?

1. That is awesome if true but $297 million from one baseball tournament seems high. Even if you include ticket revenue.

The 2022 Shriners Classic donations were $457 thousand. LINK

The 2023 Shriners Classic donations were $208 thousand. LINK

2. Saying you're Shiners champions is also a stretch. This isn't soccer.

Oregon 2-1 (Beat Oklahoma who beat Tennessee)
Oklahoma 2-1 (Beat Tennessee)
Tennessee 2-1
Texas Tech 2-1
Nebraska 1-2
Baylor 0-3

He’s not the one that said it. It was announced on the broadcast and the team was taking pictures for it. Won by run differential. Not that it means a damn thing either way.

And $297k is correct. I think he accidentally put million.

im4LSU, I figured as a fan of a school with a history of stealing from children’s hospitals this would get you excited instead of trolly. I mean with almost 300 million to steal y’all could conceivably not get blown out by Tennessee in football by the time they play. Unlike last time when the LSU crowd emptied mid valley during the 3rd quarter.

Funny, I could have sworn this was a baseball thread about a baseball tournament.

I guess when you have nothing to hang your hat on, moving goalposts is really your only play.

I rather be known to donating to a children’s hospital, than stealing money from a Children’s Hospital. May want to sit this one out.
