Fun fact - Nico's QBR has improved from 135 > 148 this season. If he can repeat growth that next year he'll be about equal to Jake Fromm's freshman season (160.1) and if he takes another leap he can be an even better game manager

He did damn well though. It's our oline who shite the bed, not Nico. Add that and BS momentum changing calls by the refs and the road and yeah his numbers don't tell the entire story.

Some of you don't even watch the games and just look at the stats i think. A freshman QB ain't ever going to post monster stats when he's running for his life every other play against a rival on the road.

When he gets protection, he makes NFL level throws consistently.

I expect the Vols to lose in the first round. How was that unclear?

Another freshman replaced Nico? That does sound promising.

You are going to be eating crow because there's a good chance two teams above us will lose and we will get to host the first round if that happens.

I'm expecting Texas to lay an egg this weekend at Kyle field. Too much noise and too big of an environment for bi-polar Ewers to win at

His best games were against OU and NC State early in the year.

He was dog water against UGA, UF, Bama, and Arkansas

Oh give me a break. Everyone around the country agreed that was some home cooking. We got the same treatment in Neyland against Bama though. SEC refs gonna SEC ref.

He hasn't put up "monster" stats against anyone other than UTC in the first game of the year.

He's afraid to pull the trigger on deep passes and afraid to tuck the ball and run for tough yards even when it's open for him to take.

All he does is hand the ball off and throw passes less than 10 yards down the field. He doesn't make NFL level throws consistently. He only attempts maybe 1-2 a game because he's afraid to take them and checks down nearly every pass play.

I get it...I'm just saying that it is a surprise that UT is even in place to make the playoffs...and it's only because Bama has taken their designated Music City Bowl bid. BTW...I recommend Jack's BBQ when you are downtown for the game.

You are the one who's afraid. His best is yet to come and you damn well know it. Stop acting the like the kid is a veteran or something.

If next season looks similar in the passing game then we can have this conversation.

But so far he's doing well. It's the oline and the WRs that have been disappointing so far not Nico. All of them are capable of much better play though.

he threw for 209 yards against Kent State.

He had 2 pass plays that went for more than 20 yards.

They are going to hate us no matter what we do. Just embrace the hate and enjoy our run..

Vols haven't nearly played up to our potential yet and still are a playoff team.

That should scare anyone not named Tennessee with a brain.

I'm not. He may be good 2 years from now, but right now he's not threatening at all. Good at avoiding turnovers though.

No, he's not doing well. You're going to hate to hear this, but if Joe Milton was your QB this year, Tennessee would be playing in the SECCG. Joe had issues, but he wasn't afraid to throw the ball down the field. Nico is scared to do that. He just hands the ball off and throws short passes. The Tennessee offense only really works with a good running game and a deep passing game. They have the running game, but Nico is afraid to risk a pick throwing the ball down the field... and so their offense doesn't work. The same receivers got deep receptions with Milton as QB last year. Nico is the problem.

That's why the only SEC opponent that UT has topped 30 points against is MSU... the worst team in the SEC. And they only barely got there (33 vs MSU).

Stop acting like your crap doesn't stink because UGA is far from perfect and capable of losing to any ranked team if Beck has an off day.

Factually stating that we own Tennessee’s butt is not acting like our crap doesn't stink.
