Interesting analysis here. Geoff Collins was not great as a head coach but I think he's right on the money here. I'll for sure be watching our safeties and how they are playing. The chess match between Lebby and White ought to be epic. Kamario Taylor is the next level up of Sellers IMO. The zip on his throws is amazing to behold. I think our defense will have to step up to make the difference for us, that and a Willy B sold out crowd.

Briles substitutions - then Lebby running guys on late in play clock - another aspect of the game where MSU coaches had a strategy and our sideline never adjusted -

why did USC keep substituting on offense what seemed almost every down? Carolina never got any tempo going at any point in the game -

there's also the running inside zone 1Q that had MSU gassed - and then it stopped -

I wont disagree with much, but aside from the lack of TD's, I actually really liked us controlling the clock and keeping Kamario off the field. It felt like we used Tempo at times (like third and one to get a first down) but you couldn't ask for a better TOP in the first quarter

agree on TOP in 1Q -

3Q was a disaster from the 2 INT alone -

4Q after MSU took 5 mins off the clock to kick FG and go up 18 and we get the ball back with 8 & change - and took 4+ to score - that was the tempo issue amplified where MSU kept running players on late because we subbed -

Briles is a savior compared to everything OC since 2016 - it was one aspect in the familiarity with he & Lebby that he didn't keep their D from subbing after only being on the field for just under 4 mins total in 3Q -

Beaner didn’t learn the lesson Bert tried teaching him a while ago at the Cheez-it bowl.

Spot on, and this is the one thing that has me holding out some hope for this year. I still think this offense can score, and I still believe we can run the ball well. I like our play caller for the first time in 10+ years.

Defense was a huge letdown, and hopefully they get that fixed but Lebby does some stuff to spread guys out and pick on a weaker secondary.

But sellers definitely has to improve and he is the one piece that I just dont have the belief can improve. Play calling, Running, blocking, WR's, DB's, LB's I have faith can get better as the year goes on. I dont know that 16 can
