Add Ben McDonald to the list of haters he said we need to win this series and 1 or 2 in the tourney.

Good game MSU. Nice late comeback. Eta: I think that may be the first time we've lost a game after leading in the 8th this season.

Your closer had given up 2 earned runs all season and gave up 3 tonight

Fwiw I hope we both host.

Never woulda thunk it! Already frustrated having to miss the game, going to my daughters 2-3 year old graduation program. I kept checking my phone and twitter and kept seeing all the men left on base. Got back to my car after eating, right after the push bunt hit, to put 2 men on and 1 out. So I got back just in time to hear Jim and Bart with play by play. Best win in a long time IMO. Gotta get at least 1 more, 2 would be sweeeeeeet.

Our guys essentially are playing with our backs against the wall. Gotta win this series to host.

Seems to be the only way we know how to be under Cohen...

Sure do hope we can transition the same intensity to playing as favorites at some point...

Seriously Thompson..you're gonna pull Ross Mitchell when he has a 1-2 count on a batter and hasn't given up any runs just for a right hander matchup. frick you

Graveman is due to be the ground ball Graveman tomorrow. That game totally drained me. I would be tempted to go Bracewell on Saturday.

Would you not have started the inning off with Holder? Girodo gives up a walk to start the inning and then we bring him in? It worked out because Holder is a beast, but it doesn't mean that it wasn't stupid.

Ross was doing fine but thankfully Girado didn't frick up.

We had a 1 run lead going to the 9th..we have one of the best closers in the nation. You always go to your closer in that situation immediately.

Girado put the tying run on base..just 1 base hit on Holder and the game is tied and in jeopardy. Had Holder started the inning, they likely wouldn't have ever gotten a runner in scoring position.

It still worked out for us, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a dumb move. It was an unnecessary risk

Girado threw 5 strikes in that walk. Home plate ump was ridiculously inconsistent - both ways.

I agree Girado got hosed- but you start Holder in the inning- that's a given. Only thing that could have played a part is that maybe Holder wasnt loose yet- but as long as that rally took- there is no excuse if that was the case as well.

Cohen is going to go match up even if you put a gun to his head. Makes me crazy some times.
In addition to the inconsistent strike zone, the home plate ump calls CT out at the plate, clearly signaling a tag on the forearm with Greiner standing just in front of home plate. CT is kind of short but how the hell do you tag someone on the forearm without their foot getting to the plate? I was sitting 150 ft from the play.
