that this guy gets so much love from the casual fan and journalist. The guy has never won by utilizing the QB under center. In big time football you absolutely must do that to beat a great defense unless you have Tebow. We all know there will never be another Tebow. Tebow is the #1 threat to run on that team so basically he is in the wild rebel at all times but an efficient passer as well. Typically when he runs he gets 5 yards or more per carry. Hell, usually you know he's gonna run and he still pushes the pile 5 yards. No one else will ever be able to do both that well. You can't use power run or traditional play action pass out of that offense without Tebow. When the defense doesn't have to prepare for it, the offense becomes too one dimensional.

Another thing I don't understand is all this love for Meyer when now he's coaching at a program that should be producing NFL QB's. It should be producing NFL RB's. What player will be a QB or RB for Meyer in the future knowing the NFL frowns upon his shotgun only offense? Why would a program like Florida be happy running a gimmick offense b/c their d can keep them in games? Shouldn't Meyer and Florida pride themselves on developing pro prospects? It's florida. one of the nations top 5 and some years top power. It's sad.

Meyer is the biggest coaching fraud in football.

I RA'd. Calling another coach a name will not be tolerated. Enjoy your bannage.

The dude's kicked arse at Bowling Green and Utah. He's also resurrected a UF program on life support.

Yeah. Um -- he's pretty good.

Once again; you plunge into this argument. And once again; I laugh at you.

If you ever "ignored" wrt you would be missing out on some comedy gold.

let me make sure we are clear.

He's won with a gimmick offense that nonbcs programs were not prepared to stop.

If you were to put him in the NFL he would fail miserably b/c he's a poor coach. He will fail without Tim Tebow. I have watched enough of his coaching blunders to know that. He is lost without Tebow.

Like Saban and Spurrier.

Nevermind the bling, they're poor coaches, right?

He ran a passing spread at Utah and with Leak at Florida. He was able to adjust that offense to a spread option with Tebow to fit the personel he had put together. He's won using both systems. That's the sign of a great coach

I'm guessing Nutt would lead the Raiders to the next 3 Super Bowls...still without ever winning the SEC

I gonna see how much credibility is gone from this thread after 2010. Someone should bump it by then.

Apparently BCS programs couldn't stop it either.

WHo gives a frick? Saban and Spurrier both failed in the NFL. They both have multiple SEC championships and at least 1 NC in college. The NFL is fricking irrelevant.

I guess that's why he won an NC with Chris Leak as the starting QB.
