Urban M says OSU may have the most talented Roster ever. He's never seen anything like it.

That's pretty scary coming from a guy that Coached 3 National Champions and spent most of his career in the SEC & Big Ten.
Jim Tressel also comments.

It's Ryan Day still the coach? Did they hire premium gus malzahn as their OC (chip Kelly)? Do they have Seth McLaughlin on their oline? College football is fine, Ohio State is going to fail yet again. Just means the transfer portal smorgasbord is going to be epic after next season when day gets canned.

So, an Ohio St alter...hmmmm....Bucki, is that you? You must have finally got banned. Anyway, nothing around here has changed, not the least of which, caring about anything that has to do with Suckeye sports.

An undermanned Michigan squad will beat them for the 10th season in a row somehow. Ryan Day is a bum.

Even Missouri was able to get a win against OSU. That is how bad OSU needed to make changes and will this year be like Ole Miss. Both have made a lot of noise on recruiting and transfer portals. Will it work this year?

Who is OSUs qb? They got some good portal pick ups from Bama, ole miss and KSU, but you need a good qb (and coach) to be a winner.
Most talented rosters ever were early 2000s Miami and 2019 LSU

How does it compare to Texas A&M's No. 1 recruiting class in college football history that failed to produce a division, conference, or national title, went 5–7 and 7–6, and ultimately resulted in a $75-million buyout for their coach?

Has he ever seen talent like that?

I think it will be Will Howard or Devin Brown.

Urban is referring to an entire team roster, not 1 recruiting class.

It definitely is. If Ryan Day doesn't win with this roster he's going to be under heavy fire in Ohio.

I get what you're saying, but in terms of recruiting, A&M's classes leading up that looked like this:

2019: 4th
2020: 6th
2021: 8th
2022: 1st

In both 2022 and 2023 their team talent composite was ranked 4th in the country.

At last update (2023), Ohio State's was currently ranked 3rd.

Urban Meyer obviously knows a lot more about college football than me. I'm just simply noting that having a talented roster does not necessarily translate into success on the field — as evidenced by a direct, recent analogue in our very own conference.

Dude, Relax.

This is a College Football Board.
I just thought that when 2 of the greatest coaches in College Football History say that there is a team this year that has the most talented roster that they've ever seen, and maybe the most talented roster ever, that it was worth posting.

Kickoff is only a month away, cheer up.

They'll roll through the BIG.Oregon might give them a game but that's about it. Michigan shot their wad last year.

That bowl game wasn’t a good example of how good osu could have been at full strength.

OSU had better players at almost every position. That is no excuse to lose to a lesser team that has lesser players.

Some dude wearing #33 was qb, he was bad and couldn’t move the offense and were missing skill players as well. They still only lost by 11. With a competent qb it may have been a different story.

Look what Georgia did to an FSU team who was short handed. That’s how you do it.
