This is still being naive on your part. The man knew what he was doing. the only thing you can tag as naive on Kelly's part, is the fact he thought he could pay with a school check.

Off subject, but I must say, I've never seen a bigger avatar upgrade in my time here.

Right after the summary was released our beat writer with the Register Guard tweeted that Oregon's legal counsel requested that the NCAA turnover documentation on how other teams were using Lyles. He also tweeted that the NCAA was hesitant. I personally didn't read the 24 page document but that is probably the answer to why Oregon got a wrist slap.

He was naïve to write a 25k check instead of 5k like the other schools.

The problem was, the other schools had enough of a case for themselves to have doubt, Oregon didn't. They just had a much easier case to prove.

Exactly. I would argue as counsel that Lyles had no reason to act differently with Oregon than the other schools. That is reasonable. No one is stupid enough to believe that Lyles didn't act as agent for any school that contracted with him, right? So, the NCAA slaps Oregon on the wrist and closes the books.

Most of the national commentary that I read on this case opined that the NCAA got it right in this case. I think some fan bases (e.g., Oregon State, Washington, USC and tOSU) have obvious reason to lather themselves in a frenzy about the injustice and perpetuate innuendo (e.g., Knight's deep pockets).

There is your consistency. I work in compliance. This is the one thing that will get you fricked.

No He was paying for a little more than videos of kids. He knew what the 25K was for. Stop already.
