They should have called a personal foul on the LSU lineman who took off his helmet after UT recovered the fumble. Which would have replayed the down, but from the 17 yard line.

It's not like there was a phantom penalty. UT clearly brought 12 guys on the field. I'm actually kind of irritated LSU won (I'm tired of this imbecile pulling these games out and saving his job), but that was a pretty cut and dry call
