SEC material.
talent-wise, sure. Upstairs, he's got serious growing up to do.
Getting in fights with teammates, yelling at professors and classmates, dumping popcorn on a teammate in a movie theater during bowl festivities (seriously), and stealing from the university made him not worth the trouble.
Richt's statement on the dismissal really said it all. He's never said something like that about anybody.

He was stiff and lacked instincts. Yeah he can still develop, but, naturally, he's only a physical specimen that can light you up if he squares you up. You can make up for that, but not if you're a turd. I encourage AU to take him.
Shaq was meh. Great instincts but was never getting taller. And he was a turd. "Looking for a team that will embrace my attitude." El oh el.
Losing JHC will be a killer.
As has been noted, Damian Swann is still around.
Once again, there are maybe 3 teams on our schedule with a competent passing attack.

ummmm. No.
He was up against a walk on and another true freshman. And he didn't even start in half of the games.

We kicked off the other safety (Chris Sanders) and moved JHC from safety to nickel.
Because of recruiting low numbers, we were down to Conner Norman (walkon) and Mauger (another true freshman who got more PT than Matthews despite being ranked a lot lower on the websites)

Just when were those flashes? I looked for them, believe me. I begged for them. Maybe Shaq's pick 6 against Vandy?

A big if. It worked for Mettenberger and Marshall, but has failed for countless others.

Tray's competition was a white walk-on and another true freshman. Shaq's was another true freshman (Langley). Shaq didn't even make the travel roster to Clemson. None of that is impressive IMO.

Mizzou, USCe, and AU.
ETA: Corey Moore and Mauger also started at times last year. Let's not act like the cupboard is entirely bare.

For illustrative purposes:
CB Swann started 13 games.
CB Wiggins started 8.
S Moore started 7.
S Mauger started 7.
S Matthews started 6.
We're essentially looking for a #2 CB and a nickel. It sounds like JJ Green has the nickel wrapped up after moved from O to D this spring. Pruitt seemed to really like him.
So, we're looking for a #2 CB. Reality is drastically different than: UGA has lost all 4 starters in their secondary. El oh el.
