The letter shows that once again Bama is on top of it's compliance.
Throughout the crap we've been thru since Gene Stallings threw the NCAA out of the complex, our compliance department has been applauded time and time again for the way it operates.
It just so happens that the NCAA finds a way to bend us over every time.
I'm not sure the letter above could be any clearer. It even calls out the Clay Travis' of the world.

As we always do in matters of this nature, we discussed this matter with the SEC Office. Because we found no evidence of any NCAA violation, we did not self-report a violation. UA will continue to be proactive in all areas of compliance monitoring."
There ya go, they discussed it with the SEC, and stating the obvious... You cannot self-report something when there is not anything to report.

Another thing, can you bammers explain why Bama originally said they didn't notify SEC, now they're saying they did?
And why didn't bama mention the disassociation when this story first broke, why bring up the generic cease and desist letter when you've already done something more definitive like disassociate themselves from him?

LSU disassociated themselves from Lyles for the same reason Bama did it with the suit owner. They know some rules were broken and is trying to get out in front of it.
