God bless the victim’s family. Ruggs deserves life in prison if proven in court that he was the driver. There is no excuse or apology or remorse that can undo such a selfish reckless act. No different than pulling a gun out and blowing someone’s head off as you walk down the street.

No. I will not give anyone such a free pass. It may have some bearing when it comes to sentencing, but no amount of it is ok. Most drunk drivers that kill people ARE doing exactly what you say. It's because they are impaired that they can't do it correctly.
Besides, .161 isn't a little drunk and you don't need to be driving 156MPH before it's reckless driving.
Even sober 156MPH isn't ok in such places.
It's all a result of people who think they are more important than everyone else, so they don't need to follow the rules. Just like all the stupid fricks on their phones.
