Are you asking why one of the poorest, and one of the most sparsley populated states in the country with six D1 teams, two of which are founding SEC teams, can't "build" another college? Why would they do that? Do you think said college would all of a sudden be immune from court ordered admission requirements?

Not to defend the poster that you’re commenting on, but China once built 15 cities with infrastructures to support populations of Chicago for EACH city, and they are sitting vacant right now. I think even the poorest of Mississippi could see that this would be a huge waste of already limited resources, and we are just talking one college in this case lol

There are eight public colleges. At least two, maybe three should be closed down tomorrow. Mississippi University for Women and Mississippi Valley are drains on the taxpayers.

The issue is for decades, if one school wanted to start a program, they would spread programs around because the board that governs all the institutions were trying to be fair.

What needs to happen is each school needs their own board to serve their own interests. Ole Miss has to approve everything State does and vice versa. They have a good working relationship now, but there were decades where they did not.

One of the main reasons both teams played in Jackson for so long is the IHL wouldn't approve stadium enhancements for either school.

I know State and Ole Miss are founding members, but I feel that the SEC has evolved past that. We don’t need any schools from Mississippi in the conference.

Ahh you have successfully united State and Ole miss fans. Congrats. Go frick yourself you slow minded frick

Fun fact: Boddy Dodd never wanted to play in Mississippi because he thought the state was beneath him.

I’m starting to think you’re some kind of a troll masquerading as a dwag fan.

It was 100% the lack of money to be made (coach pay was tied to the attendance then) and the difficulty of travel to those schools

Last thing- the fact that you’re so proud of graduating from college to have the handle UGA alum tells me a lot about you and your background.

Canton has one. I don't do a lot of shopping there but do their plate lunches driving through. Catfish is Friday.
