He grew up and played HS and College ball in the state of Pennsylvania. Grew up a Penn State fan.

yes- his dad graduated from there and he knows some of the money people affiliated there.

I dont know if he can get it or not- but Mullen will be a candidate for them

I bet if they offered 2mil+ he'd leave for the UNC Job. he be a fool not to do so. It would give a freebie year, as the expectations for this season would not be much at all. He could learn on the go without much if any pressure at all.

Au fans please Don't get buuthurt and think I'm claiming/predicting he is going to go there but it would be a heck of move for his career. IMO

He's already getting 1.3mil. He'd wait for a better job. Contrary to what most of yall think, he's not unhappy at AU. He's enjoying his stay, waiting for the best offer possible

maybe, but it's far from a done deal

Thats why I really dont worry about Georgia opening up this December- as long as Grandpa stays at PSU- Mullen is going to stay at State.

I've had an asst tell me flat out Mullen is in Starkville until he gets a top 10 job or Penn State- he likes the thought of building a program and beig considered one of the best in school history- or THE BEST. He thinks he can be "that guy" at State

But PSU is where his heart is and is 1st choice

I've yet to see a post claiming he's unhappy at Au. UNC would be hell of offer, probably the best possible offer as a OC would get a major D1 school. $700k extra is lot of $$

I have been told the same thing. He likes the idea of having a statue and being a Frank Beamer or Bobby Bowden type for a school and is happy to be at State

I agree. I think he's a great coach-a great coach who would do well at most places. I imagine that there will be lots and lots of rumors linking his name to the job. He has been linked to every major coaching vacancy in the past year, yet he's still at State.

I bet he does to, just got a raise to 1.3 mill a year.

I'd rather get 3 mill per year with zero expectations. You?

He would continue to get his arse kicked in recruiting by Clemson and USCe.

Why do y'all keep saying this? Has he mentioned something like that before?

ETA: I read the rest of the thread, I see now.

absolutely

I just love how the rest of the SEC wants him out of Starkville. It's going to take a top 10 school or Penn State to do it.
