Or South Carolina and Ole Miss at the very least.

This game is a joke

The good news is that this increases the likelihood of a new formula next season. Sankey will have plenty of ammunition.

Nope

They were deemed even worse than SMU

No. But Oklahoma blew them out.

Why not have Oklahoma play Penn State?

I would have been fine with Ole Miss or USC over this nonsense.

Yeah I’m not a Bama apologist; impossible with losses to Vandy and the worst OU team in a generation.

But I’d take almost any SEC team over this.

No.

It should just be 4 max.

Really 2 would be fine.

The more teams you add the lower the quality goes and the more teams you'll have that "should" have made it.

None of them should have made it.

Respectfully disagree. I love that more teams have a shot and 1 loss doesn’t ruin that shot.

I don’t like the current seeding format and expect that will change before next year.

Maybe you should try sucking less and getting better so when you do accomplish something it actually means something.

You lost, but yet you still think you should be treated on the same levels as those who didn't(assuming equal SoS). You are just asking for a handout.

And it's the same thing you will be telling teams ranked 13, 14 or hell probably 17 and 18 before long.

You know what is great about the 1 loss thing? EVERY regular season game was like a playoff game. EVERY game mattered.

Now we just watched a bunch of rival week games that had almost no meaning and a SECCG with almost no meaning. All because "I know I lost, but I still want to be thought of as special" bullshite.

Never understood this argument. Every week this year felt important to me because if we lose a couple of games (fairly easy in SEC) then you’re likely on the outside looking in.

I also hate it when teams who actually schedule tough out of conf games get punished because they lose an early Sept game and then have a tough loss in conf. Hello Pop Tart Bowl.

But there’s literally no other sport in the world other than requires “perfection” in order to make playoffs. And even when there is “perfection” it still doesn’t work out due to conference imbalances. TCU says hi.

4 is ideal to me, but I would tolerate 8. 12 is too many.

Use the BCS to determine rankings.

Shut up. In what use to be one of the biggest games of the year, if not the biggest and even bigger than the NCG sometimes, both teams were in the playoff regardless on who won. That game has in many years decided the eventual NC, now meaningless.

You just lose control of your destiny when you lose a game early. Other teams often lose and things come back around. Which in turn adds meaning to all those other games. In 2011 everyone was glued to...Oklahoma St vs Iowa St because of what it meant for the national championship picture. It's like a hat that gets passed around.

4 teams is too many most years, but it's the trade off we have to make because sometimes 3 teams are deserving. 4 teams have never been deserving, much less more.

I think it depends on the year so I’d prefer one that is more inclusive. Just last year and undefeated P4 champion was left out and a 1 loss (in championship game) Georgia.

But I do agree think 8 probably gets you the right teams most years. Think something needs to be done on how these teams are though of given the huge conferences now. It can’t just be don’t lose, wins should be more important

Unless you play a uga 2024 schedule, and that’s still pushing it, 9-3 just isn’t worthy

6-8 teams at the most have even half a shot at winning the ship. 12 teams is too many

The thing I like about 12 is it shows 6 should not be mentioned in the same sentence as National Championship.
