Considering Ogletree can still decleat Crowell in practice with it in his system, I'm cool with them legalizing.

that's the thing though. It's so rampant in college you know that. If we threw off every guy that was doing it we wouldn't have much of a team. What we need to do is have a 2 strike policy bottom line on any player.
This is Rambo's 2nd strike so he should get kicked off. I agree the players need to understand, regardless of starters, what the deal is.

like adam just pointed out, EVERYONE at every college does it. Blaming this on Richt is a poor, poor excuse. If we want to blame him for something, it's for following the rules and not making any exceptions.
Personally, I say frick the rules. Give Tree a warning and Suspend Rambo two games. Why should we be so hard on ourselves when everyone else is in it to win it?
But alas, the double-edged sword to Richt's family persona is a stringent adherence to an ethical code. If I'm going to blame him for something, it's for following rules nobody else seems to follow as stringently.

i disagree. regardless of what is happening it is the guy up top that is ultimately responsible. he has shown routinely that he cannot keep our team from arrests. what, he had a good 2011 off season? shite, that almost looks like an outlier.
i am pissed and i am going to put some of this on richt, absolutely. i know it's the players fault too but i won't ever admit richt doesn't have blame. why are we the only program that deals with this?

I agree. Some of it has to go on Richt. It's his team. If he hasn't put the fear in them that's his fault. Thing is is everyone does it, it's just when you're caught that's the problem. If anything our guys need to be smarter about this and make sure they don't get caught. As I said earlier, each player gets 2 strikes. After the second brush with the law they're off the team.

I mean, what can Richt do about it though? If one of your favorite professors walked into class Monday and pleaded with y'all for 30 minutes to please not smoke weed anymore, would it really affect you to the point that you don't do it?
I'm pissed at Richt too, but for different reasons. We will NEVER win a national title unless we agree to play the same game everyone else is playing. You know that whole definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results)? Well, as you said, we've been playing the same broken record and it ain't gonna just start playing a different tune. Start playing CDs like the rest of the conference or we're gonna continue to trip over our own damn feet 6 months before we ever arrive at the starting line

Fwiw, we were talking about weed in my coaching class and a guy that used to play college football brought up a story about a Clemson player that didn't get kicked off until his 8th failed drug test.
Brought up another one about an FSU coaches son that transferred out due to lyme disease or something but he was really a drug addict.

you look at those as 2 separate issues and i see it all as one. richt has to be willing to do what everyone in our conference does to win. if he isn't willing, then we must move on.

This isn't Richt's fault IMO. Players have to take a certain level of responsibility as well. Richt is still a POS though.
