SOS Rank:
(13) Georgia (BTW- this doesn't include Bama in the SECC)
(66) Clemson (does't include ACCC- which probably makes it worse)

WTF are you trying to prove? ACC is horrid, therefore your schedule is weak. That's not new or debatable. Of all the hills to die on this is an odd one for a Clemson fan.

Preseason SOS rankings. Who knows what those are even based on.

And the ACC has a winning record head to head against the SEC in the CFP era. Must not be too horrid.

Overrated? Georgia Tech has won a natty since your last but you mutt fans think you’re on Alabama’s level. Win something for your conference before you brag about how good it is.

How about winning the conference?

Can you imagine how boring it must be to play that ACC schedule?

As a fan I would rather take a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. kidn fo explains why so many of them come here to post, though, doesn't it? It would beat watching an ACC football game.

Out of curiosity....do any of them play any good/hard OOC games?

ETA
Clemson plays A&M
GT plays Georgia
FSU plays Florida

I think that's pretty much it.

Preseason rankings have historically proven to be more accurate than early to mid-season rankings... They generally tend to be ratings of potential for programs... rather than overreactions to small sample sizes early in the season.

That doesn't make them without fault, but when determining SOS, it's more valuable than saying we played Team X when they were ranked Y in week Z...

29-28 record with many games left to play in this season...
10 of those wins are from Clemson. Another 5 of them are from FSU pre-meltdown.
So greater than 33% of all ACC wins in that period came from one team and more than 50% came from 2.

On a quick glance, Alabama was only responsible for 5 or 6 wins, same for Georgia.

If we don't choose arbitrary timelines, and instead just look at it by decade:

BY DECADE SEC vs ACC
W L T Win % PFPG PAPG
2010's 51 41 0 55.4 29.2 26.0
2000's 47 32 0 59.5 24.2 20.4
1990's 33 26 1 55.8 24.4 22.6
1980's 37 21 2 63.3 22.9 18.5
1970's 46 21 1 68.4 22.1 14.4
1960's 62 11 4 83.1 22.7 9.6
1950's 37 16 2 69.1 18.9 10.8

There's not a single decade where the ACC has a winning record against the SEC and that won't change this year...

You make a lot of claims. Show me a post where a Georgia fan said we are on the same level as Alabama. But it would appear as if Clemson fans have two things wrong.

1. You are not on Alabama's level
2. You are not in the SEC

Win something for your conference before you brag about how good it is.

We haven't? We won the SEC. We won the Rose Bowl. We've done alright lately.

But no. You are an ACC fan trying to pump up Georgia Tech.

They are decent, but don't pretend that title they shared 30 years ago proves anything today. It no more makes their team better today, than our title we won 38 years ago does for us. Apparently, (By your reasoning) before 2016 GT had a better program than Clemson!

Clemson is in the middle of a nice run, yet you want to forget that before 3 years ago the last title you won was only one year more recent than ours.

Duke just played Alabama. Half the teams in the conference play Notre Dame. The ACC schedules more P5 non conference opponents than the SEC every year. Florida just played only their 2nd non conference game against a P5 opponent in over 20 years not named FSU.

Thanks for the history lesson. We’re talking about the current landscape of college football. UGA won a national championship almost 4 decades ago. You gonna brag about that?

So in other words the preseason rankings are based on perception mainly? Yes, I would agree with that.

Dude...

Since 2000 Georgia is 15-4 verses GT, and GT has been about 7-5 on average during that time.

Because 75% of the ACC is full of non-P5 caliber teams.

Yeah, that was a really interesting game.

Which, for football purposes is more or less a ACC team....not OOC. They are contractually required to play so many. It's not like ACC teams went out and said, "hey! Let's schedule a tough game!"

Florida just played only their 2nd non conference game against a P5 opponent in over 20 years.

One team? You want to pick ONE team?

Are you going to ignore:

UGA/ND
LSU/Texas
AU/Oregon
A&M/Clemson
SC/Clemson
UF/Florida
Miss. State/KSU
Crap, even Ole Miss is playing California.

And then on top of that...which of the big match ups in the ACC match up to:

UGA/AU
UA/AU
LSU/UA
LSU/AU
UGA/UF
A&M/LSU

Seriously. Are you going to try to say the ACC matchups in conference or OCC are equal to the SEC?

Even the BIG 10 had OSU/Ok the last couple of years. But the ACC seems adverse to playing any riveting OOC games that are not forced onto them.

No sane person could deny this.

The SEC has a losing record head to head the last 5 years against that conference full of non P5 caliber teams.

I don't think most of these guys are Clemson fans. They're alters of alters of alters - so confused by now they don't remember their original login. Basement dwelling, non-arse washing, overweight, neck-bearded & balding, hairy-palmed, middle aged Shrekasauruses.

Almost every Clemson fan I've met in real life has been completely decent - fully understanding both the magnitude of their team's recent accomplishments and Clemson's place in the lexicon of CFB with pride couched comfortably in humility.

I won't take the bait.

Remove Clemson out of that and tell us how it looks. face it. Your conference is Clemson and the little dwarves.
