Kirby was still very green and was outcoached
2017 and 2018 were still the "diamonds in the rough" defenders of the Jeremy Pruitt era.
We didn't have the DBs.
After Roquan, we hadn't developed the ILBs yet.
We were still in the process in terms of roster management.
Our #1 recruiting class was the 2018 class. It took 4 years from there for this train to get a full head of steam.

Our 2017 defense was way better than our defense this year.

Yeah, it's "virtue signaling" for me to point out that you're not only wrong but criticizing a guy who's on an NFL roster and playing despite health issues.

I remember when Kirby was 0-1 against Saban in National Championship games.

I will say this year UGA gets up for big games. I know it's not the formula a coach wants but anytime they have had to play another ranked team, they have beat the shite out of them with Mizzou being the exception.

Let's be honest. Bama would have beaten Georgia in the National Championship Game if it wasn't for Bama's receiving room being decimated by injuries. Jameson Williams was absolutely torching Georgia's secondary (65 yards in just over a quarter of play) before he went down.
I probably won't need to remember this, but if I do need to
Georgia's best LBer out Saturday.
Third best WR out Saturday.
Best WR limited if not out Saturday.
TE not at 100 percent.
RG not at 100 percent.
