NCAA Response to UGA Report Received

For Immediate Release
August 9, 2011

ATHENS------ The University of Georgia compliance office
was notified late Monday by the NCAA that it had reviewed the University¹s
report on UGA linebacker Jarvis Jones and found no violation of NCAA rules.

Statement from UGA head coach Mark Richt:
"I appreciate the work of our compliance office for its time and effort in
providing a thorough, comprehensive report and I'm thankful for the timely
manner in which the NCAA reviewed and evaluated all the facts to reach a
decision. We're ready to move on with preparations for our season opener."

he hadn't gotten hurt yet so Richt wasn't sure if he could be a member of the team.

When he was in HIGH SCHOOL, a longtime family friend had moved some funds around (which was kinda sketchy) to arrange a plane trip for him to go to California. Why this didn't come up when he was at USC I'll never know. But because it was a pre-existing relationship and not just because he was good at football the NCAA finally did the right thing and said it's nbd.

Did you even bother to search and see if this had already been posted?

ETA:
I guess I should have searched to see if anyone else had made this comment first.

It's funny how the NCAA chooses when and how to investigate something. If this occurred in high school, county JJ's first year at USC, then a RS year in Athens last season, that makes it at least three years old. Why wait until the summer before his RS soph. season?

Because the NCAA is bunch of low-life, moronic, idiotic buffoons who have no logic, reasoning, or common sense in anything they do.

The NCAA is a reactive body,

The Columbus paper reported this issue, Georgia looked into it, and sent it to the SEC/NCAA

The NCAA ONLY looked into this because the Columbus paper wrote about it.

If the Columbus paper didn't get the police documents, then this wouldn't have become public knowledge.

And that is the problem with the NCAA, they aren't big enough to monitor college football, which is the reason for the inconsistencies
