The 1st injury scholarship UGA doesn't honor will be their 1st.

This it really sad for this kid. UGA lost another player for medical reasons earlier this year. Dawgs secondary was already thin. Rico Johnson was special teams as a FR but had a future as a DB.

Maybe UGA will still honor his scholarship. Hate to see someone doing the right things get punished.
What possessed you to make the quoted comment in the 1st place? Has UGA ever failed to honor a scholarship for a injured player to your knowledge? Has UGA ever not honored a scholarship to "someone doing the right things"?

I'd love to hear the reasons why you even formulated this thought? Where did it come from? What has UGA ever done to make you even entertain this thought?

It's not like it's a troll thread, a player has had an awful life affecting break & his career has pretty much ended & all your doing is trolling UGA...

Not to mention I don't think any school hasn't honored a kid's scholarship in regards to injuries. Especially one like this.

Speculation is spinal stenosis (Cooper Manning's injury).

quote:

"While we are very disappointed for Rico from a football standpoint, we feel extremely fortunate that he is healthy and that we were able to diagnose his condition and protect him from a possible catastrophic injury," said Ron Courson, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. "Although he cannot continue his football career, he should be able to have a normal life."

"I'm thankful we caught this condition when we did," said UGA head coach Mark Richt. "Now we can help Rico transition to life after football. He will stay on scholarship through his graduation and we will assist him in finding employment through the P.O. (Paul Oliver) Network"
