I would much rather face Tennessee again in the playoffs over Oregon. You have to look at other teams to see why UGA got in the playoffs last year.
Don't forget, UGA was the 3 seed, not 4. The team looking from the outside was Notre Dame. They were 11-1 with a loss to Cincy, who by the way was the 4th seed. Notre Dame was penalized for not going to a championship game. This could be the case for UT this year, it just depends on what the other teams do around them.
I would welcome UT to the playoffs, but saying they deserve it over a one loss PAC12 or Big12 team doesn't do it this year. If USC or Oregon only have one loss, they are in, if TCU has one loss, it will be really close between them and Tennessee.
If LSU beats an undefeated UGA team, there is no way Tennessee gets in.
Worrying about it now does no good. Too much football left in the season.
Had UGA lost to Tennessee, there was no way they were getting in the playoffs. Fortunately, we dominated that game in every way. The score was much closer than the way the game played out. UGA gave you a TD in garbage time.

quote:Have you watched UGA this season? Did you see the opener where we demolished Oregon almost as badly as we demolished TN? This was hardly our best game, though it was probably our best coaching performance of the season. It was a really good game, though.
UGA rushed for 3.5 yards per carry. UT played it’s worse game while UGA played its best
And yes, that was TN's worst game of the season. The question is: why? Was it just because you couldn't handle the crowd noise? Nope. Was it those two turnovers you gave away? Well, you got two of them from UGA, so we were even there. You didn't do anything exceptional to shoot yourself in the foot. On the other hand, you were gifted 2 points back from a blown call on the safety, and you had multiple drives extended through penalties where your receivers were well covered and not going to move the ball otherwise. So why was this your worst game? Because you were dominated by a much better team.
quote:Why do you think Hooker missed those throws when he was 70%+ with his accuracy in previous games on those? Because he finally got pressure in his face. You saw it against Pitt, too. When he's got players at his feet, he's not as accurate. We bullied him all day, and that's why he wasn't as accurate on those passes. The only way you would stop that in a rematch is if Hooker got better as a QB, or if you stopped us from getting pressure. What do you think you would do differently schematically to prevent that pressure? We've got better horses. Hooker isn't going to become an NFL-caliber QB in a few months.
Don’t expect hooker to over throw 2 TD’s next game like he did Saturday. Bru and Hyatt both was alone in end zone and should have been TD’s. But non the less it wasn’t.
quote:The fans weren't loud when you were playing defense. The fans didn't impact plays after the snaps. Are you going to blame everything on the crowd noise? You have a larger stadium than we do and can fit more fans in there. We crushed you in all facets of the game while you barely squeaked out a 3-point win against Alabama at home. Is our crowd so much louder that you played worse than Bama did in your stadium?
But we will see you 3,000 miles away from Athens for the rematch and you fans won’t have near the impact they had this weekend
I know you're in denial, but most UGA fans that I've heard and read honestly don't care what happens to TN going forward. If you are left out, so be it. If you get in, so be it. We man-handled you in every area of the game and there is no reason to expect a different outcome in a rematch, so we aren't scared. Many of us were scared going into the game, because we didn't know how well our defense would play against your offense, but our fears were put to rest early on when TN couldn't put up points.
Here's the deal: if we have a rematch, there's no reason to expect a different outcome unless UGA is completely decimated by injuries to key players over the next month or two (and we're actually getting back some of our best players soon). This is because we have objectively better players than TN does. You have an up-tempo offense that spreads defenses out with a QB who would need a lot of help before being NFL-ready because he can only read one half of the field. Your tempo and spread concepts are great against teams without the skill and scheme to neutralize it, but UGA has those things. We didn't substitute until you did, so we weren't going to be caught flat-footed or penalized due to your speed like other teams, and the few times where we were out of position, our players had the speed to catch up and disrupt the plays.
We neutralized the run game (which is 60% of your offense) which made you one-dimensional. Is that going to change in a rematch? If so, how? We kept your offense in front of us, conceding short gains to prevent the big plays. How are you going to scheme around that next time, when your offense is predicated on confusion and hitting the big plays after pounding the ball on the ground? We got in Hooker's face time and time again. How are you going to change that?
Bottom line is that you were overmatched. You've got a good team, but your unique (compared to other teams) offense is only as good as the caliber of players on defense and the coaching against it. UGA isn't losing its coaches by the rematch (if it happens), and it's unlikely that we'll lose enough players on defense to not be able to handle you. So with that, bring on the rematch! I'm not confident that we'll see one, but if we do, I'm certainly not afraid of it.

But yet they don’t think UT deserves rematch on neutral field after UT lost by 14.
The score is easily 48-13 if uga doesn’t fumble twice and it doesn’t start raining. They lost the turnover battle and didn’t play close to a perfect game and beat the living shite out of Tennessee. Your QB was begging for the game to be over with. It was an absolute shite stomping. I hope TN gets in the playoffs so they’re delusional fans can watch their asses get worked again and make up another excuse. You are not an elite team. Lol

Tennessee gets in over 1 loss TCU. I doubt they get the nod over 1 loss Oregon or USC.

Your defense got exposed as everyone knew how bad they were.
Pittsburgh - struggle win
Florida - comeback
Alabama - last second FG
Georgia - arse beating
Just win out. UGA has to go to Miss St. and Kentucky. Not the easiest places to play, we still have football left and you can fix your defense. Maybe.

Like Tennessee fans had vs UF and Bama? You wouldn’t have won either of those games on the road. Stop the silliness.

2019 UGA defense was “the best of all time”

My God why can’t y’all see the other side of the equation of UGA getting in last year is different at this point from UT this year..
the BiG 12, ACC, and PAC12 champ all had 2 or 3 losses. The playoff had to take a G5 champ last year to fill the bracket because the other 3 all had more than 1 loss.
If given the options the committee will always take a P5 1 loss champ over a 1 loss 2nd in a division team.
You’ll feel better if you just accept it

UGA did even come close to its best game, Kirby just had them team go out and do the min required to win.. and UGA forced UT yo play like it did.. nothing can change that.

UGA had 2 turnovers on your side of the field. And UGA only averaged 3.5 yards a rush but played their best game? Do TN fans even listen to themselves? Lol. Your “2019 LSU” offense literally looked like school children against UGA. It was the most pathetic display a #1 team showed this season lol

Well, we did go to the conference championship game. Had you beaten us, I would have thought Tennessee would go to the playoffs no matter if they got beaten in the SECCG. But you lost and won't go to the SECCG.
You guys need to stop crying. You and Rich have been crying constantly since the beatdown Saturday.
If you honestly think you go to the playoffs say it and then wait. You don't have to say it every five minutes in a new thread.

Lol, no. You are exactly what we thought you were. A team with shithouse rat luck who was exposed the minute you played a team with enough discipline on defense to do what we did.
You are frauds.

A joke? We blew out LSU, blew out Kentucky and beat Bama. Stop acting like we are a bad team or something based on one bad game against the reigning national champs. I know for a fact we can beat UGA on a neutral field.
A joke is your best year in a quarter century equaling 2nd place in the East. A joke is thinking you have an elite team when your defense is currently ranked 81st in the country. A joke is actually believing you will beat a team who utterly owned you in every facet of the game less than 3 days ago. You are the joke.

The difference is Georgia went undefeated in the regular season and didn’t get penalized for playing a 13th game.
The same can’t be said for Tennessee.
