I was at that 2002 game and I think the difference is UGA was a pretty strong favorite and definitely the better team against that Zook team. So with that, and the drop, you could say UGA "choked" or at least let it slip away.

With the game this year it was a game between two evenly matched teams that came down to the wire and one team made a play at the end and the other didn't. Still, like others have said, Florida exceeded everyone's expectations this season and had a hell of a year.

ETA: Should have read the rest of the thread first.

Valid question and I have wondered also why UF fans haven't been more vocal on being left out.

Florida wasn't pretty for sure, but damm what a physically tough team. Vintage SEC.

1. Most UF fans are absolutely ecstatic that we went 11-1. Some of you frickers said we'd only win 4 or 5 games.

2. There's no guarantee that we would've beaten Bama in the SEC title game.

3. UGA is the better, more talented team this year (especially on offense).

Also helps that taking back Ron Zook Field was our most satisfying regular season win since the 08 UGA game.

I'd say this was better than the 08 UGA win...

I was furious that we let Manuel score at the end too.

I think what softens the blow this year, is that we are going to enter the 2013 season as one of the clear favorites to win the National Title. We have amazing coaches, a very young team, and a ridiculous recruiting class coming in next year. The future is extremely bright.

Also, I feel like deep down....we know we are the best team in the SEC. UGA just had all the stars align for their schedule this year. They played like shite and got blown out by South Carolina....and got a mulligan. We played like shite and lost by a TD and its costing us a national title opportunity. Is it fair...no. It is what it is though

I was about to be, but I think it was either Roberson or Elam that signaled TD in the endzone after Manuel scored and I lost it

The other UF posters covered what I was going to say.
I predicted 9-3, with a losses to TAMU, uga, and fsu, so being 1 out of 3 ain't bad.
I thought (and still think) 2014 will be our year. We may finally have an undefeated season then.

Nah, I thought you'd go 8-4. For the first time in probably two decades, UF was one of the biggest surprises in college football.

Yes...that was a score against a total prevent defense...WTF? What were we preventing? We were ahead 37-20 with a minute left.?? Hell, I wantred to score three more TDs against them....was hoping we pick could Manual off and take it to the hacienda.

Count me as one who thought we had NC potential after LSU game and especially after USC game...the UGA loss still didnt deter me because the BCS computers loved us...I KNEW teams were gonna fall in front of us..happens every year and two did...but ND played a weak schedule of Wake & USCw. Oh well.
