I haven’t seen a thread on it but what’s the better places to eat in or around Gainesville? We’re not looking for anything specific.

Fast food burger - Mac's(it's awesome)
Best dine in burger - The Swamp or P&G

Asian - Volcanic, Dragonfly, or Yummy House

Lunch - Abuela's gives huge portions, Las Pasadillas has awesome combos with big portions for Mexican, and Lucky's has a buffet style lunch in the store that is off the chain

Breakfast- Metro Diner or 43rd Street Diner

More upscale eating - Ember's, the Top is great too but the hipster vibe is annoying as frick, Original American Kitchen is an upper scale cracker barrel basically.

Wings - Loosey's or V Pizza

BBQ - Adams Ribs

Also Harry's is awesome Cajun food

-The Top (downtown) has great food and a cool vibe. Try the burgers (maradona burger is legit) and sweet potato fries. There will be a long wait but they have a cool bar out back. I’d recommend the top if you had to pick one.
-MojoQ (downtown) has good bbq and makes a good old fashioned.
-OAK (downtown) has a cool atmosphere as well. I normally try to stop by here after dinner for a drink and some shuffleboard when going out with a buddy. Food is decent.
-Public and General (east gville) is about 5 mins from downtown but has a great burger and the dill fries with house mayo are delicious. No waiters here, you order at the counter or bar.
-The Social (midtown) is more of a giant sports bar with a rooftop terrace. This will be a good spot to check out Saturday if you don’t have a tailgate. Good chicken tenders here.

Satchels is popular for their atmosphere but the pizza isn’t anything special. I prefer Piesanos for pizza. There’s one on the corner of 13th and University in between midtown and downtown.

There are other spots that are good as well that are a little more expensive like Leonardo’s 706 or Dragonfly.

Bars/breweries
-Swamphead brewery is south 34th street but one of my favs. They have a football fest on fridays before games.
-Big Top (downtown) is a brewery that serves food as well. They have really unique tasting beers.
-Madrinas (downtown) is a good craft cocktails bar (but don’t get the one that comes in a flamingo). It’s a pretty small space FYI.
-if you guys like arcade games, go to the Barcade near the corner of university and main st (downtown). It’s a 3 level arcade bar with all the classics.
- there’s a new bar downtown called Cry Baby’s that looks decent. Haven’t been, but they serve craft cocktails and food
- Swamp restaurant (midtown) can be a cool drinking spot if you can get a table on the front lawn.

Miss burrito brothers. Forgot about Hurricane BTW. They’re in that spot now. Their crispy chicken BLT tacos are pretty good. Not a bad option if near midtown.

Nothing like eating an open face roast beef sandwich and looking at strippers. No matter if you look at your meal or the entertainers you get a good look at some serious meat curtains

There's a café downtown that serves Sumac as their specialty---half price for Tigers, and then you can wash it all down at the local cyanide dispensary around the block from that.
