As to the game tonite, what do the pitching matchups look like? Also curious, as I did not get to watch the game last nite,why was State's starting pitcher pulled so early? From the stats, he was not getting rocked.

Our #1(Graveman) vs their #2 tonight. We got fairly deep in their pen last night and hit all 3 guys fairly hard despite Renfroe, Rea, and Frazier being cold -- that's just a tremendous defensive UCLA team that played us perfectly from an alignment standpoint and caught everything we hit out there.

He's a righty that we've been throwing once through the lineup then bringing in the lefty Girodo to eat innings in middle relief. The starter(Fitts) has alot of work to do on his 2-seam fastball(very, very flat with the 90ish fb), so he mostly just throws breaker after breaker -- which stands to reason that teams start to hit him alot harder the second time through.
In general, this approach gets the left/right matchups into our favor for when Girodo comes in, who is a 3/4 sidearm guy from the left side that has a slider that's not even fair against lefties from that arm slot...

Well I lied...
Going with Pollorena tonight -- meaning we're gambling giving our ace till tomorrow giving him 4 days rest.

We played tight last night and they played their best. I have a feeling we tie it up tonight making for a fantastic game 3. I just wish these announcers would STFU though. They are so full of fail.
