Guess you do want some more, bitch.
I've got
al.com

and...
THE TUSCALOOSA NEWS
all from 2006, all reporting the same thing, that the UAT board headed by Bryant Jr blocked Fisher's hiring.
You just let me know which one your bitch arse wants first.

Are we talking about UAB taking over Birmingham or all the rich UAB donors who are begging to write $5M checks but are being denied?
That is what I want to hear about.

UAB's search committee of interim Athletics Director Richard Margison and associate ADs Brian Mackin and Lee Moon was scheduled to travel to Baton Rouge on Thursday morning to conduct an official interview with Fisher.According to the paper,"the trip was pushed back a day at one point on Thursday and eventually canceled after the University of Alabama Board of Trustees expressed concerns that hiring Fisher would be too costly."

We're saying it was for obvious financial and logistical reasons
Just look at the numbers instead of "Little Bear is an evil racist redneck"

I'm talking about you dumb dishonest lying gumps trying to argue with me that the UA BOT headed by Bryant Jr blooked UAB from hiring Jimbo Fisher.

That has changed the last few years. UAB has gotten aggressive with their Academic recruiting and scholarship offers. They are not just a post graduate school anymore. Which is why they want to build up their Athletic Programs.
Yeah I've been confused by all this "commuter" school talk? UAB is one of the leading research institutions in the Country? They have world renowned faculty and staff. I would say it's the premiere academic institution in the State.

Yea nobody argued with you on that.
This entire thread has been about UAB building a new stadium.

bullshite. Your arse started by discrediting the first source I posted stating the UAT board blocked the hire intentionally.

Nope. You're changing the argument. No one has denied Bryant Jr is powerful on the BOT and that they didn't want to pay a ridiculous sum for new coaches/stadii
The argument is about WHY
Idiot.

UAB has fantastic graduate and doctorial programs (and the accompanying research).
UAB does not have fantastic undergraduate programs.

The frick is your ignorant arse talking about?????
They paid MORE for a lesser coach just so UAB could not hire Fisher since UAB boosters were paying half the salary from the get go.
STOP LYING.

Auburn BOT has BLOCKED funding for all kinds of things.
THE ISSUE IS ABOUT WHY

Seems to me like you're more pissed that Jimbo Fisher didn't end up at UAB more than anything else.
I could only wonder why. Could it have something to do with the fact that auburn lost to him and Florida State last year?

Cause Bama knew they could only hire Saban if he got Jimbo then Jimbo would be Bama coach in 3 years when Saban left for Cowboys/Texas/USC.
Duh

quote:Seriously dude? Looking at the economy the past 7-8 yrs ~ why in the world would anyone agree to pour millions into a program that #1 Can't even sustain its own athletic program and #2 Has such poor fan support that their own contibutions have fallen off $1.2 million in the last 8 yrs?
Difference: AU is not afraid of success at GSU. If they were, they could not do anything about it. But Bama's actions prove a different story with UAB.
Strictly from a financial standpoint, it makes no logical sense for the BOT to support a new UAB stadium when their own fans/students can't find the motivation to show up and watch their team play. It will take some special UAB alumni to pony up not only the money, but the commitment to go and put their asses in the seats. How many UAB alum will travel to watch UAB?
