He's still better than Aaron Murray.

He probably didnt record a sack against GSU, they run the triple option, nice try though

Cincinnati is bad competition but Vandy and Kentucky are good? You realize he had a broken throwing hand against Vandy/UK last year? Might as well have been throwing with his elbow.

Tyler Bray is the real deal. While he has developed a tendency for getting injured early in his collegiate career, Bray is as talented as they come when healthy. He has a smooth release and has the ability to let the ball fly all over the field. Occasionally, Bray gets a bit over-aggressive with his rocket arm, which has gotten him in some trouble. But with arm talent like Bray's, it's tough to blame him for trying to fit throws in tight windows. If he can cut down on the mistakes and stay on the field in 2012, Bray has a very real chance of being a top five pick.

Tyler Bray is a highly touted signal caller from California, who is eerily similar to Peyton Manning.

Standing at an imposing 6’6” Bray is poised to be a first round selection in the 2013 draft, if he chooses to come out. If it was not for Matt Barkley coming back to school many would project Bray as the first overall pick.

I remember Mallett putting up 500 and 5 TD's against UGA

We were terrible that year. Definitely a "weaker" opponent.

I guess if you want to be compared with Buffalo and the like...but I sense your sarcasm

I think he will be better off with a healthy Juntin Hunter. Also he will have Patterson this year. I just think UT Defense (more specifically the seconday) will be the problem for them this year.
Um, Tenn had a good D last year with lots of returning starters.

The offense is GOING to be much better. Problem is, they're still a draft class or two away from getting the depth on defense to hang with the Bama's, LSU's, and USCe's of the world. We're going to see it this year. The 4th quarter is going to be an issue.

No sarcasm. We went 6-7 that year. We were crap.

I see a Tenn D that played a BRUTAL schedule last season: @Florida, @ Alabama, @ Arkansas. Not to mention, LSU and Georgia both had good offenses last season. The D returns 7 starters, and was ranked 36th nationally in total defense. Losing Malik Jackson on the D-line hurts, but the D should still be just as good or even better than last season's D.

UT defensive stats 2011
UT's D last year was ok, not good. They gave up 340 yds/game. Very middle of the road for the SEC. My assumption about their defense was mainly predicated on the fact that a new D coordinator is in town and there will be some growing pains with the transition to the 3-4. Even Grantham's D at UGA had some problems his first year and I think had better personnel than what UT has on D now. UT's overall team is very young but still not very deep yet. They will be good, but I still think the defense will be the ultimate downfall. Not really that far fetched, and I don't think many UT fans can disagree that the D was less than stellar last year.

Dude, give them a break. They played LSU, Arkansas, and Alabama last season. Reminder: THEY ARE IN THE EAST. In those 3 games alone, they gave up 1,319 total yards of offense. C'mon. That is just brutal. I don't think the average is a very fair assessment considering the schedule they played.

Bray, honestly, hasn't had THAT many chances to prove himself vs. good competition.
He'll get plenty this year.

Bro, read my entire post. My original accessment on the D was more about the about the transition to the new D this year. I understand they played some good teams last year; it is what it is. Every team in the SEC plays good offenses, but good defenses stop them. If you don't you do not have a good defense. Pretty simple.
