Agree or Disagree
He made some big time throws yesterday, he also made some big time mistakes.
The upside is there.
9/15 159 2TD/1 int.
In the second half yesterday.

It's not like he's Phil Simms's son or anything.

Could be...
Good thing about his situation is the players around him. The entire offensive line is young and will develop with him, same goes for his WR, Da'rick and Hunter, and the RB, Neal, is looking pretty good as a freshmen. If they all progress and develop over the summer this year, UT's offense will be pretty good next year, and could be stellar in 2012 and 2013

The exact same entire offense will be in tact for 2-3 years except TE starting next year.
QB: Bray Fr.
HB: Poole Jr./Neal Fr.
FB: Fugate So.
WR: Hunter Fr.
WR: Rogers Fr.
TE: Rivera So. (TE needs an upgrade)
OT: James. Fr.
OG: Schofield Fr.
C: Stone Fr.
OG: Fulton Fr.
OT: Pair Fr./Thomas So.
This offense will be extremely good in a few years.

All I'm gonna say is remember what us gator fans were saying about brantley last season...

I think he'll be a middle of the pack guy.

Disagree. He is better than that shite bag that normally starts.

I agree. I just don't know if he'll be a top 4 guy. I think the kid at Georgia will be, he's just young. I think AJ McCarron probably will be. Tyler Wilson should be.
I feel confident in those 3. From there it's hard to say. That's why I'm thinking he'll be in the 5-8 range.

Agreed. I haven't seen Bray play but he is going to have a lot of competition. I would put money on Tyler Wilson being in the top 4 and I think Aaron Murray will too, from what I've seen. Haven't seen much of McCarron so I can't really say on him.

Bench McElroy claims that he has angel wings and rays of sunshine shoot directly from his arse. Be afraid.

Next Alabama starter is always the greatest possible quarterback of all time ... or at least since Namath or Stabler (or something like that).
It goes beyond the old "most popular player on the team is the backup QB." At Alabama it's always "the backup QB will be the greatest since Namath or Stabler."
For over a decade it's been like this. Just because my memory gets fuzzy at 10 years:
First it was Tyler Watts. His backup and greatest of all time was Brodie Croyle.
Then it was Croyle. His backup and next candidate for greatest of all time was Sarah Jessica Parker Wilson.
Wilson get the job and the next candidate for greatest of all time was Starr Jackson.
Sarah Jessica is still around, but Starr Jackson isn't cutting it, so the next candidate for greatest of all time is Greg McElroy.
McElroy gets the starting gig and the next candidate in line as the greatest since Joe Willie and the guy who likes to drive drunk is AJ McCarron.
Once McCarron gets the job and doesn't perform up to expectations one time or another, that Simms kid will be labeled the heir apparent to the throne.
Things get a little fuzzy in my crystal ball after that.

I think McCarron will actually be pretty good. In terms of arm and talent, he's better than we've had in quite a while. I'm not going to crown his arse, but I like what I see.

Bray could be very good. Some of the throws he's making are unreal.

Only if he's a letdown.

I'm not sure why people are so surprised about him. How much meaningful playing time did he actually get last year?

Disagree. He was playing against what is inexplicably turning out to be the worst secondary in the SEC. Despite being superbly talented, they couldn't cover a pot of boiling water. How do you lead the SEC in sacks, yet give up a 70% completion rate? How does a 6-2 team play 8 games and only get 4 interceptions (1 from a defensive end)?
