after watching that highlight video, it actually made me more relieved after hearing about Bray's amazing performance against Cincinnati. for a number of reasons:
1. Bray was 34/41, at least 20 of those completions traveled less than 6-7 yards in the air. out of these completions at least 5 of those were screens or traveled a yard or less. it doesn't impress me that he can make 5 yard throws time after time with no pressure on him and wide open receivers.
2. Cincinnati failed to make any defensive adjustments against these short passes. not only this but they are far less athletic than the UF defense and don't have nearly the speed. these 5 yards or less designed throws won't work for a full game against SEC defenses.
3. Not surprisingly, it looked like all of his incompletions came off throws traveling more than 10 yards where the receivers were covered tighter. if you take away those automatic passes that skew his completion percentage, he's throwing the harder/longer throws around 65%, which is still good but not exceptionally good like his numbers make it seem
with that said i think Bray will be a great QB in the future but he's not going to beat our defense with those short passes all game. i'll note i remember 2 of his td throws being sharp medium to long passes on the money, so he can make those throws.

Defense wins. We will run and run, and control the clock, and leave Bray in the sidelines. When he comes out he will feel pressure.
I'm not guaranteeing a win. TN will have a few big plays, but FL will win this one 30s to 20s. I wonder if TN fans will have a meltdown.

Nah, most of them think a loss is going to happen but are hopeful that their Bray will overcome.

Maybe that's because they ran a soft zone all day. It was a solid game plan because Bray has mostly faced and destroyed man coverages. It's not a bad game plan, if you can get pressure and not allow Bray time to find the WR sitting in the open zone.
I expect Florida to run zones as well, but will try to get more pressure than Cincy could. Pressure on Bray and Tennessee's run D will be the keys to this game.

Tyler Bray's weather prediction for UF on Sat.
Cloudy and a 90% chance of pain.

Rush Defense
UF: 50.5 (#10)
UT: 139 (#67)
Pass Defense
UF: 124 (#12)
UT: 233 (#73)
Pass efficiency Defense
UF: 89 (#18)
UT: 122 (#57)
Stats after playing 2 cupcakes
And our offense has put out almost as many yards as TN, except in a balanced way. I just don't think at this level you will win with three players. I guess Bray could be that good, and if he turns out to be I will give them props. Just imagine if one of those receivers have a P Peterson cramp day...

Just watched. The thing that struck me is he makes some REALLY good throws but then he makes some just not-so-good throws. Like a few yards behind the receiver at 2:22 and 5:08. He also throws behind his wide open receivers a few times as well. If he throws inaccurately into coverage like he does at 3:04 he's going to get picked... a lot.
He's got a super quick release which is really good for those 5-6 yard throws he makes the majority of the time. I really like how fast he gets the ball out of his hand. He seems to make the right decision the majority of the time.
Oh... Cincinatti needs to learn how to tackle.
It will be a good game!

It's funny because my bold prediction was Bray would be the best QB in the SEC this year. Looks like I'm right so far. Let's see how he plays against a decent defense though.

CTF alter. No doubt. The signature gives it away.
