Pete Golding.

Who do you think Alabama will hire that is better? And why do you think Saban is going to allow that hire to run a defense that is any different than what we have now?

What do you think Alabama will gain? Saban has been teaching this guy for like half a decade now. Our defenses are actually pretty good.

Such a lazy and dumb take really.

I have nothing to say about BoB. Saban allows them to do their own thing, so long as they keep things the same for the players in terms of terminology. This offense seems to be underachieving for sure, and another coordinator could come in and do something different. But that shite isn't happening until next year at the earliest, so I suggest learning to deal with it for the next 4 months.

Old Nick is slipping

Smart is hungrier than Saban and it bleeds into the team.

Saban is older and not as quick to make changes sometimes as he needs to be. Thats why Saban gave both coordinators another year, even though they both sucked last year. Until those Coordinators are gone, the Bama program is going to be in a funk.

I did notice he looked like he's been eating more than 2 little debbies a day.

I’ve been thinking it’s the joes instead of x and os. Young players, transfers need time to get time. At least that is my hoping.

It's not the defense that we're running that's the problem. It's the play calls and in game adjustments. Do you honestly believe that with all the talent Bama has on defense that Jeremy Pruitt or somebody of his caliber couldn't do better. Defense is underachieving.

Y’all are just going to continue arguing this absurdity in the face of all evidence to the contrary? Golding has been great. The numbers for the defense speak to that.

You got 1 of the 2 correct. Golding isn’t the issue anymore. The WR coach needs to be canned along with butt chin.

Does this help?
2008 to 2015 – DC Smart – Avg Recruit Ranking = 2; Total D Ranking = 3
2016 to 2017 – DC Pruitt – Avg Recruit Ranking = 1; Total D Ranking = 1
2018 to 2021 – DC Golding – Avg Recruit Ranking = 2; Total D Ranking = 14

These takes on Holmon Wiggins are ridiculous too. Not only is he a key recruiter for Alabama but he’s helped develop some pretty damn good WRs in four years at Alabama. That’s 5 first round NFL draft picks at WR.

Have you seen the recruiting rankings?

Or are you just purposefully being obtuse?

The evolution of offense, including Bama's makes it harder on the defense to put up the numbers that Smart was able to.

SEC numbers, During Smarts time Bama was the 4th best offense in the sec, while being 1.25 in defense

Golding, Offense is 1.75 over the last 4 years while being 2.75 in defense

Last 4 years for Golding, the #1 offense avg was 534 yards a game.

2008-2011 for Smart the #1 offense in the sec avg was 459 yards game.

I think at the end of the day you have to look at the over all records.

O’Brien is the priority. We can live with Golding at this point.

Golding has been great.

Was he great when his dbs weren't interested in covering Georgia's tight end in TWO games.

Which former Saban DC would you pick Golding over?
None.
