The defense became slack and an afterthought - the whole team was on Tua’s shoulders - it never has been that way in the past. Always everyone had to pull their weight in order to win. Now that he is gone I think it will help the team refocus.

I think that is actually a valid point. It also has to do with how quickly the offense would score sometimes. Alabama will have better ball control time without Tua.

Yes, losing a generational talent at QB would be bad news for any team, except Alabama where losing an elite QB actually makes them better.

Tua had nothing to do with the problems you're referencing btw.

Only a Bama fan could spin losing the best QB they've ever had into being a good thing and it only making them better. I'm looking forward tot their hot take on how Saban retiring will be a good thing for them by having a new coach with new fresh ideas

Bama fans:

“LSU won’t compete for shite once they lose their best QB in program history.”

Also Bama fans:

“Our best QB in program history declaring for the draft will help us.”

Yep keep thinking that.

What has happened is that LSU has caught up. No more analyst advantage and knowing all of our plays. No more offensive scheme advantage. The huge line of scrimmage advantage has closed up. The coaching staff advantage has disappeared.

Bama still great program. Great team. Others have caught up.

Bama soft schedule does not help them develop. In 2019. The LSU game in November was Bamas first competitive game.

LSU had already played Texas Florida and Auburn. Three pretty solid tests.

2020 Bama plays Georgia early. Solid test.

Mac jones is going to do very well for Bama

Brennan is going to do very well for LSU.
