It's funny how people still don't understand this

That may be petty and irrational, but its the truth. Everything else about Bert seems cool. Dude cracks me up and I hope he keeps on keeping on

You can be very fat but still be a clean person

But he does need to lose weight for health reasons alone as he gets older.

I like him because I like coaches that "keep it real" in the media. After AU having two coaches that are masters of coachspeak (Chiz, Gus), it is refreshing to see a coach like Bert who isn't afraid to open up and be himself. There's not many coaches in the league that are like that. Miles is one (and Miles is still my favorite coach in the SEC).
I mean the season only lasts 3 months. What are we gonna do the other 9 months? You gotta have a coach that entertains throughout the year.

He's a genuinely good dude who is vilified by alot of media. Meanwhile, Jim Harbaugh is a giant doucher, and that same media loves that "lovable, quirky, eccentric genius".

Glad to know other fans appreciate that he is trying to do it "the right way." We dont always win but I think most Hog fans like to be seen as a clean, respectable program from the outside fans,
They said the same thing about Sly Croom...
But in all honesty, Mississippi State fans love some bert

I can understand what you are trying to say but you need to blame the media as well for that. He tries to be real and that is great sometimes for views or clicks.
Agree to a certain extent. But coaches have to know that they are going to twist and report things to make them look bad. He has to learn from his mistakes and just chill

Amazing how Bert almost always beats LSU, and Ole Miss, takes Bama to the wire seemingly every year… but has no wins against Miss State and has lost to Texas Tech, and Toledo…

I'd consider it the inconsistency seen in a rebuilding program

Absolutely- that's the reason. I see fatter people on a daily basis (as do we all) and I see ratty dirty skanky looking skinny folks too. The whole frustration with others and their weight shows more about the person complaining and their insecurities than the person with the weight issue.

I don't think he really cares so I'm not sure what is to learn and most things get overstated. A great example was already shown in this tread about the "Texas Tech trash talk". It should be up to the viewers and readers to take the media's reporting with a grain of salt.

Sometimes trash talk backfires, like when Les Miles purposefully mispronounced Arkansas over and over in a press conference before losing to the Hogs at home. It happens.
The one thing that really worries me about the BB show is even though he is a truly good guy who isn't afraid to speak his mind, there is always the danger of overexposure. I just hope that Bo can resist the urge to overdo this before people get sick of it.

Have always loved Bert. His Horns down was epic, and I didn't even mind his pirouette after Arky drew a PF against Bama.

quote:I wonder if he felt like he had to do that his first three years. After the Petrino/John L fiasco, Arky was pretty much a laughingstock (#nb4sowasAU, but 2013 turned that perception around in a big hurry).
He needs to just shut up sometimes and do his job. Not try to be the center of attention. I like his approach and he should let that do his talking
With their schedule, and breaking in new talent under center, the Pigs are still a year away from serious contention. But Bert has them in the conversation now, and I think the attention whoring will come to an end as they become tougher and tougher to beat on the field.
