LSU 15-6 .714
Auburn 16-7 .695
How much is Malzahn's contract worth again?

Other West teams: Lose to O, fire coach.
Auburn: Lose to O, here's a frick-ton of money.

Auburn doesn’t measure success, or a lack thereof, based solely on the LSU game.
Also, Jay Jacobs was very trigger happy and was basically looking for a reason to extend Gus Malzahn.

Gussie is averaging 4.3 losses per year.

Gus is Auburn’s whole decade. They say he is the coach that made Chiz, so firing him would be a complete program reboot.

How many national titles does Saban have? Gussie?
Sounds like the barn hangs everything on beating BAMA. I guess you really are happy with 4 losses per year.
Strange fan-base.

Gus can use SOS again this year as the reason he can't produce two successful years in a row. Good for him.

but nobody can win consistently at au
Every AU HC of the last four decades (Dye, Bowden, Tuberville, Chizik, and Malzahn) has finished at least one season with a team legitimately in contention for an NC. No other SEC school can make that claim.
Unfortunately, every single one of those HCs save Gustav has followed up with disastrous seasons that led to their dismissal.
The problem for AU historically hasnt been winning at a high level, but building a solid program that wins on a high level year in and year out.
