Kirby, I would like for it to be Mullen but evidence suggest he will be gone within 10 years no matter his success. Kirby may be a lifer at UGA, unless he gets the itch to coach pro ball. He doesn’t seem like that type fhough.

I think Mullen will eventually make a stab at the NFL, given that he continues to be successful.

Who exactly uses his offense in the NFL?And if he successful at UF he'll make just as much money as coaching in the NFL.

He has done some consulting with NE and others over the years in terms of developing the spread and how it translates to that level. From a schematic standpoint, our guys have consistently claimed their NFL systems were things they had ran or done in college. And obviously he won't prioritize the QB run game in the league. I don't think he will necessarily still be doing that in college TBH, at State he had to get the most out of what he had available. Even though in Daks senior year he had fewer called runs, we were very limited by lack of RB and WR talent.

As to the pay thing. I think these guys are as concerned with their personal desires and fulfillment. It's also pretty established that he likes a little down time in the off season and does not care for recruiting. And it's not like he can't make a run at it and find his way back to a stellar college job if it doesn't work.

Mullen will be there as long as Florida will have him. He's never been coveted by other programs.

There is a better chance that Smart leaves Georgia.

But, there is 3x the chance that Mullen flames out than Kirby does.

Do so few Ranters remember that Kirby is a Georgia man? The only job I can imagine will even remotely tempt him from UGA -- which is an upper-tier job -- might be replacing Saban at Bama. And that still seems extremely unlikely. If he's doing well enough that Bama would want him, he's doing well enough that his own alma mater would want to keep him, and seeing as he's made very clear by his choices that UGA is his dream job, he's unlikely to say no to them.

Mullen has a life outside of football. No matter how successful he is I think Mullen will leave the pressure of College Coaching about a decade from now and never go back. Mullen is into the arts and really spends quality time with his family and away from football on his other personal interests.

Kirby Smart has no non-football related personal interests. He spends more time working than he does with his family and will always be a workaholic. If Kirby hits a rough spot in his career at Georgia he will be a miserable SOB to be around at home and at work. If the Georgia job gets away from Kirby he'll be lost and lonely for eternity.

Has anyone ever told you you're just a barrel of cheer?

Todd Grantham is your D coordinator, you ever heard of 3rd and Grantham? Will be the death of Mullen. Your QB whispering coach might score 50 it’s a game, but your D will give up a lot more!

It is hard to predict the future but to say Smart was just lucky displays a lack of intellectual honesty. Must be a Gator thing

Is definitely not generalizing about an entire fan base.

You were doing great until you did exactly what you accused him of doing. Is that a Georgia thing? Of course not but carry on.

false.. one is at his alma mater and has no reason to leave. Kirby is recruiting at a high level and will sustain his success.

I agree with you. He's going to dominate the East for a long long time. Should be a fun ride for sane ug fans. They need this.

He's heading to a northern college before the NFL

It seems like an easy false but far crazier things have happened.

It depends on who Bama goes after when Saban retires.

And a good possibility.
