If there was ever a year that the 4 team playoff makes sense, it is this year. You have three 2 loss teams and one 3 loss teams in there, none of which have any business in making the playoffs.

Alabama is a very good team, but you can't objectively say they're #4. They really don't have the resume this year. Placing them in the top 4 makes it obvious you are looking at past years and considering reputation.

Further, your particular top 8 is a good example of why no expansion is needed. Do the viewers really want to see rematches of LSU-Auburn and OSU-Penn St?

18 year old QB a couple of months out of HS making his first road start against legit competition in week 5. Nix has grown considerably better since then.

I'm not so sure I'd sleep on Oklahoma. They've been battle tested against some good teams recently and have started to get healthier.

LSU should probably beat Oklahoma but hope their fans aren't sleeping on them. They could just as easily win.
