It's funny how when LSU is bad, it's "the state of SEC football is terrible" narrative is trotted out.

Stupid Miami twat who shouldn't even be here. You're going to find out the hard way when Richt blows a game he shouldn't. Although he is in a pathetic division. So he'll have it easier. He'll be outcoached is almost every game.

an LSU fan didn't start this thread, and there really doesn't need to be a narrative. The numbers are pretty damn clear.

Not surprising considering their fanbase believes Lsu is the center of the universe.

SEC will do just fine. Yes the SEC vs the World field may be more level.

Makes no difference, because all of them can be beat.

Ray Perkins wasn't fired he voluntarily left Bama to be the HC of the Tampa Bay Bucs. Truth be known Perkins never wanted the Bama job to begin with. He was happy as the HC at the New York Giants but Coach Bryant pretty much told him to take the Bama job. He didn't have the guts to tell Bryant no.

Does it matter pre-season or post-season to be ranked?

Outside Saban and Mullen I wouldn't call any other coach in the conference above average. It's quite pathetic.

Out of head coaches, yeah. There are some good coordinators working for dumbass HC's though.

Unfortunately this is VERY TRUE!!! One coach gets all the talent he wants out of any state, 3-4 deep at every position,
regardless of his assistants, SABAN is the coach of it all, except conditioning. Thirteen (13) other teams have to compete with a almost NFL College team - the rest of us unfortunately are not on equal footing. Even the referees
favor him, the commissioner of SEC. He recruits dirty gets them to commit and then doesn't honor 2nd year scholarships
and then will not let them play in SEC. Why does the conference punish a player because he couldn't play at one SEC team, the conference and coaches make millions off these kids and Coaches & Conference protect themselves and the player is thrown to the wolves. The old saying life isn't fair well it isn't in the SEC conference for the players, coaches and schools & Commissioner have all the power. The are selfish. What if they were the player they should ask what is FAIR?

Hilarious reading on here that Nick Saban ruined your conference. What nonsense.....

The idea of firing a new coach prior to four years not that long ago was considered unfair. It was discussed openly on the air that new coaches had at least 4 yrs to succeed including your very own Les Miles when half thebLSU fan base was calling for his head after the TN game when y'all gave up a 21 point lead. There's no denying that. From a fans perspective Butch Jones, Beliema, Gus have all been on the hot seat not long into their stint as head coach by a large portion of their fan base. Look at your own board for the group of fans calling for the head of Orgeron now 3 games in. I also never said it was unique to any one school why you brought up points from Alabamas past that prove my point. We're coaches fired early before yes and most of those were fired after 4 yrs excluding dubose who was also caught screwing his secretary and was involved in the Albert Means fiasco so that's not really a fair comparison. That was about more than win loss record. Besides show me any of the coaches at Alabama you listed that had the success that Les Miles or Mark Richt had. Those were successful coaches.

The coaching in this conference is just so bad right now. How many coaches aren't good enough or have fan bases that hate them? Sumlin, Bert, Orgeron, Mac, Butch, whoever the frick Ole Miss and Missouri's coaches are.

Malzahn is by all accounts a top 3-4 coach in this league and even Auburn fans don't like him that much.

Besides Saban and Mullen, it's slim pickings in this conference. At least at the programs in the top half of the league. I'm not ignoring Mason and Stoops.

Saban has destroyed the SEC.

VOLS, LSU, Gators, UGA and Auburn are all trotting out clown show coaching staffs.

Sad!

Saban kicking arse and running off Fulmer, Meyer, Tubbs, Les, is mostly on Saban and his unprecedented success. But hiring shitty replacements is all on the schools.

In UT's defense, I will say that I think you had a pretty damn good coach in Kiffin, and there was notning you guys did to deserve him bailing on you. Hiring Butch was interesting, but letting him stick around and keep you in mediocrity is bad.

Although I think Kirby will be pretty damn good and Mac has potential but is underachieving for now.

One person is responsible and everyone knows it. Can't hate him for being successful but he's killed coaching in our conference, especially now that the playoffs mean you don't have to face him to get there.

It hurts but it is what it is.

Actually, it is any time MSU, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, or Kentucky are good.
