So...how's NIL doing with respect to limiting opt outs?
Back load a little of the benefit and maybe some guys won't "quit" on their teams.

It is. Every state is on a different level.
I will say it again. When these doors opened, it allowed way more than what people bargained for and unless it's regulated then it will lead to those things.
Here is a real example. Why does a great College talent only have 4 years? Other students can go to college for 12 plus years. Why can't Tebow go back to college and play?
I mean, he would get a NIL for at least 1 million per year and he will truck some punk asses on the DL.
All that would take is a law suit.

In a dead heat for the worst developments in college football in a long time.
Players have been getting paid through hundred dollar handshakes and such for as long as I can remember, the nil just brings it out in the open without penalties to teams.
As a fan of a school that has difficulty bringing in highly rated recruits, the portal can be very beneficial to us for instant talent and depth while our recruits develop.
It may also be a great equalizer and maybe we will have teams compete for it all besides the usual recruiting power houses.
Plus it gives good players who are not getting playing time on five star heavy teams a chance to play and contribute at another school instead of sitting the bench.
I would think the main people who are complaining are the ones who have top classes and want to keep other schools down.
Go Hogs!

Neither on its own is too bad. Combined, however, it's a free-for-all and will get worse.
At least the NFL has contracts and salary caps.

Dude…A&M is benefitting the most out of anyone from NIL
That's like.. you're opinion and stuff. What goes on behind closed doors typically stays there. What deals do you know of for sure have been made to A&M players?

Nah, I love it. Great of the students
Agreed, and I said this from the moment it started.
Yeah, they're given free this and free that, and now cash or gifts. None of that matters if you can never walk normal again, or have serious neurological issues.
Its all a risk for the student, all the while the school and coaches make truck loads of money

A guy with a Dale Murphy nickname and Vince Dooley picture calling somebody else a boomer. That’s funny.
Why can some regular student on an academic scholarship transfer to another school with no issue? Why can a regular student have a job away from campus with no issue? Why can a regular student make money via social media but a student athlete not be able to?
The "them kids is gettin' uh free educashun and they need to be happy and play ball on Saturdays" thought process is garbage.
The vast majority of collegiate athletes need to get their degree because that's what they'll be relying on to have a career post college, but that shouldn't impact the ability of some kid capitalizing off his hype or on the field performance.
Something someone brought up today to me was kind of interesting... Bryce Young could win the Heisman and then be in the Heisman House Nissan commercials next season while he is still playing college ball. Why the hell should he have to wait until he declares for the NFL draft to get paid by Nissan?
There is the possibility of him having a career ending injury next season, go undrafted, then maybe Saban will have him working in the maintenance department at one of the Benz dealerships. Why shouldn't he be able to capitalize off his accomplishments now?
Think of some standout guy (or just a fan or student favorite) that played for whatever team you pull for, but just didn't have the size/speed/athleticism/sport IQ to play at that next level.
Why shouldn't some guy like that at Alabama not get paid by Baumhower's to do a local radio or TV ad while he is still in college? Why shouldn't that kid at Ole Miss not get paid by Abner's to go on a a few billboards? Why shouldn't that kid at Auburn not be on Momma G's cups? Those kids are the kind of student athletes that will be using their degrees for their employment post college.
