I don't disagree with that. UArk may be the most similar to Clemson in SEC in terms of setting.

But Lawrence is near Kansas City. I have impression most the good bball players prefer more urban locations.

well hopefully a college that hasn't done much in bball wins it this year. I'm getting tired of the same teams like UNC and Duke winning it every year.

Well for this year it won't be Auburn. We don't have the size or depth available to us right now.

We currently have 8 scholarship players available. All 3 guys we are missing are big men. Our 6'11" former 5* and u19Team USA starting C Austin Wiley and 6'9" stretch 4 Danjel Purifoy who is also an NBA prospect have been suspended all year. Then with about 3 weeks left in the season we lost Anfernee McLemore, who despite being only 6'7", had stepped into our starting C role and even after the injury still led the SEC in blocks and made the SEC All-Defensive Team.

So 3 very talented bigs we are missing. Leaving us with only 3 bigs, and even though they're still good players that's still thin. Especially considering the best defender and tallest kf the bunch can't stay out of foul trouble, the best on offense is a true freshmen, and our beat rebounder is legit a 6'3" PF

However, NEXT SEASON you may get your wish. Auburn has no seniors, and has no obvious departures. We should return everybody who has played this year, and get back those who we are missing. Purifoy is the only one who might not be back, but he's also the least important. McLemore and Wiley put this team over the edge and give us the size and interior presence to match up with any team.
We will also have former VCU starter Samir Doughty eligible after sitting out his transfer year. Think Mustapha Heron when you think Doughty, (although somw players have suggested Doughty is better and maybe the best on the team). And we are adding at least one new big man in 6'9" 4* Babatunde Akingbola who is reclassifying from c/o 2019 to c/o 2018, and if Purifoy doesn't come back then I would think we add a second new big man through the grad transfer market which is rich in big men this year.
That will give us a full roster of depth.

Auburn should easily be a preseason Top 10 team and considered a National Title contender.
We would have one of the most experienced teams in the country, a full depth chart to deal with any losses, two elite rim defending big men in Austin Wiley and Anfernee McLemore (Spencer and Okeke are damn good too btw), one of the best scoring teams in the country. Our starting back court with Jared Harper, Bryce Brown, and Mustapha Heron will be one of the best, most experienced, most talented, and highest scoring group of guards in the entire country. The backups, Davion Mitchell, Samir Doughty, and Malik Dunbar would all start at most schools too.

2019 Auburn is STAAACCKKEDDD
and 2019 MCBB NCAAT is FFFUUUUUUUUCCCKKEDDDD

No, it really is not that near KC. Not to mention KU recruits nationally.

I'm not surprised considering the screen name you chose

i could see Clemson or Auburn upsetting Kansas but will be tough to beat Duke or Michigan State with their size.

I don't understand how MSU ends up a 3 seed. lol

And that's the only thing lawrence has going for it, its close proximity to KC. The city doesn't produce a lot of high end recruits though. Kansas made their mark early when they hired Naismith and became rabid Bball fans and their history started. I doubt locations is as important as you think.

Clemson can't upset anyone if they don't make it out of the first round

look at the number of bids for average land grant university in a more rural location.

I'm not saying being in urban area is all that matters.

Getting to Clemson is a pain in the azz for people outside of the south ....the closest airport is 1 hour away in Greenville.

Just stay away from our HS FB recruits.State is loaded in '19 and '20. Hope to God the kids we don't sign go to the ACC,Big 10 or ND

You know damn well Auburn will get our share out of Georgia in every sport and there's nothing you can do about it.

People may make fun of Auburn's location for being in the country, but some people like small towns and our proximity located right smack in the middle of several very hot recruiting locations is a huge advantage. We have just as much access to Atlanta and all of West Georgia, as we do to the Florida Panhandle and Mobile Bay area, as we do to Birmingham and really the rest of Alabama.

A little further than that from the "urban" areas Tillman mistakenly thinks all the KU basketball players come from.

So you with SIr Charles and predicting a Clemson loss to New Mexico State?

That's not a bad prediction based on Clemson's tournament history.

I think Kansas players come from all over the country....not sure why you trying to make me out as racist other than liberals like making false accusations of racism to virtue signal.

Your screen name is after a notorious racist.
And you've implied that schools closer to urban areas (your code for black) are better at basketball when it's simply not true at all.
Hell one of the greatest Jayhawks ever was from Alaska!

The announcers on the Selection show yesterday actually basically immediately predicted the New Mexico State over Clemson upset right after that bracket wad revealed, and then the rest of them all agreed pretty quickly and began discussing how much that helps Auburn out considering our depth issues since McLemores injury

Um, my point is I think most basketball players prefer to be in urban areas. That isn't a racist comment and applies to white as much as black.

I could be wrong but it isn't racist.

My screenname is based on the iconic building at Clemson, and to troll the SJW like you.

There are some big city programs that haven't done much more than Clemson in basketball. Miami only has 10 invites, G Tech has 16, Clemson 12.

Yeah kansas is a blueblood so they are highly successful recruiting nationally. Let me put it this way, if you were in lawrence and jumped in your car, you would reach Kansas City , ks in about a half hour where a significant urban population resides.

They prefer to go where they can win titles and go to the NBA. Same reason somebody would leave Hawaii to go play in Tuscaloosa.

Yep I agree, and a lot want out of the urban environment that they grew up in.

I was born and raised in KC and my son goes to the Bill Self camp. Just saying someplace like Brooklyn Ave where Tillman is thinking about is a little bit more of a drive than going to the suburbs.
