Which stadium is "loudest per capita of fans"?
I'm gonna go with:
1. War Memorial: everyone says it's considerably loud to only have 50K.
2. Jordan-Hare: the consensus #3 toughest venue behind LSU and Florida. Rated higher than Bama, UGA, and Tenn despite only holding 87K compared to their 90K and 100K seat stadiums.
Edit: JHS is definitely weak against weak opponents, but our fans definitely know when to bring the noise vs. the big boys.

Consensus by who? The Auburn fans? BTW, the vast majority of people commenting on Bama's stadium have not visited since they closed in both endzones. I don't think the extra people make any difference, but the extra barriers holding the sound in the lower bowl help a lot.
There have been studies done on stadium noise and they all find that crowd noise coming from an upper deck barely even makes a difference in decibel level on the field. The only thing an upper deck does to sound is to trap the noise generated by field level fans. That is why a small stadium with fans close to the field like Oregon can be just as loud as Neyland. Michigan's stadium is known to be relatively quiet due to the acoustics and "sophisticated" fans.

Yep. This is why Washington is actually a pretty intimidating and loud place to play even though the stadium doesn't hold many people. They have some weird metal structures overhanging the stands, which traps the noise, making it sound like 100,000 people instead of around 70,000

I was just going by the general opinion of the posters in this thread. I see what you are saying in regards to trapping the noise. However, I was at the Iron Bowl this year and have been to multiple IB's in both stadiums and regardless of stadium size, AU fans are definitely louder per capita than Bama fans. Any sensible Bama fan complains about the size of the Tide Pride/Blue hair section that fails to bring the noise.

Based on Noise/Intimidation
1-Death Valley
2-Swamp
3-JHS
4-BD
5-Athens
15-20 years from now a huge % of the elderly ticket holders will have died off and BD will be allot louder.

I've only been to a few SEC venues.
1)Jordan Hare
2)Reynolds Razorback
3)Ben Hill Griffin
4)Vaught Hemingway
5)Vanderbilt Stadium
That is the order in terms of atmosphere I saw. Auburn was crazy. Arkansas' stadium was really awesome. Florida's seemed kind of quiet...not really electric, but it was a 12:30 kickoff and it wasn't like it was suppose to be a big game.
I still want to see a game in Bryant Denny and Tiger Stadium.

I just hope one day they actually connect the top in the endzones in tiger stadium, it's been a rumor for a while but I don't think it will happen anytime soon. The place is rockin now, I could only imagine what it would be like if they did that.

Davis Wade is next to Autzen stadium, as far as noise goes... Autzen is considered loudest in the country.

Then you can see in the Oregon window that Auzten is actually the Oregon "O" and then in the Davis Wade window you can see people engaged in coitus with stock animals. Loudly, of course.
