Don't worry, this year we will get back to the typical scores of 37-7,48-17, 45-0, etc.

In terms of proven talent, you know, what matters, we actually do.

Pretty sure we had more sacks and allowed fewer rushing yards, though I'm not positive.

I almost threw in the 51-0 beating from 2004 too

For real though, we will put some serious points up this year if the O-line comes together

This thread was constructed to hide the fact that LSU could be preparing for a tough season. Furthermore, I dont think there are many knowledgeable sec fans that would deny that LSU has top 4 sec talent every yr. Unfortunately, that doesnt win games. Therefore, I view this thread as an optimistic pat on the back going into this year. Look I root for lsu before i root for many other sec teams but LSU fans (wealth of talent aside): you have to uderstand this is a make or break year for les miles. Period. That being said Im curious as to why LSU is still so confident/cocky about their upcoming season. Must be talent i guess.

The talent helps, but Billy Gonzales is the main reason in my opinion. The videos and pictures from practice make it very apparent the impact he is having. The team seems focused, looks to be in great shape, and will be playing with a chip on their shoulder.

pretty sure LSU had like 10 sacks in 2009, and a few were from DBs and LBs.

This and the fact that our strength and conditioning coach was back healthy and in control of the summer program this summer after a 2 year battle with cancer. He is a high energy guy and gets the most out of the players. And the fact that Jefferson worked very hard this summer to develop going into his junior year which included spending a lot of time with the Mannings at the Manning Passing Camp and one on one time with Peyton learning what it means to be a QB from a mental and leadership standpoint.

Agreed NIH.... Talent and production are two extremely different things. For an LSU fan to start this thread spells worry and anxiety IMO

Negative, big guy. Heres a question: Do you think talent and production are the same? Does talent mean production always? Answer wisely. Maybe you can provide some rant that makes me laugh

LSU always has good recruiting classes. thats never been a problem and never will be. Your post has no bearing on the TRUE argument: Can LSU win enough with top tier talent? I dont know the answer but lsu fans that deny this being a problem have a mental disorder.

Based on the star system, there is no way we should be in the conversation for challenging for the West. This included our best recruitng class since they started keeping stars...

Of course not, that's why I get excited to hear thing like this:

quote:

LSU’s offseason program has, by all accounts, yielded sensational results. Strength and conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt spent the previous two years recovering from health problems, but Moffitt’s energy and attention has returned and the word is his program has rebounded with a vengeance. LSU’s players have broken team record after team record in the various weightlifting classes, and with an 88 percent pass ratio on the murderous conditioning test (an amalgam of torturous sprints) given the team, the 2010 Tigers are in a better position to physically dominate opponents than they have been since the 2007 national championship year.

Now run along and win something post integration before you come back here with that weak shite

Ergo... vis a vis... concordantly...

lulz...

Really though, it just seems like the talent will be put in a spot to excel. Ripley's believe it or not, is all it comes down to. And some fans are buying in again.

Actually we had 21 which was sad and that is being addressed in the offseason with a pair of speed guys on the edge but the better question is how Miss States all world D front only managed 16 sacks.
