A tornado hitting a densely populated area with old houses and no basements is very bad. Prayers up.

It passed to the East of downtown (9th Ward, New Orleans East and Arabi areas). Some power outages and damage on the Westbank, also, across the river from downtown. Don’t think there was any material damage to New Orleans proper.

Weather channel videos reminds me of the bad one that hit Tuscaloosa. It was a big one moving near New Orleans.

Areas of The University of Alabama are flooding tonight. There are reports of water rescues both there and Northport.

I hope you didn’t rent an AirBNB in lower 9th Ward. If you have a car, the windows will probably be busted out.

Is it funny, or just shitty and hateful?

I think I know which.

Property damage was pretty bad at some parts in the lower ninth, but where I am and where I saw it pass everything seems ok for the most part

I’m doing UBER/TAXI from MSY…. The place is on Howard Ave , are you familiar with that area? Between COSTCO and S Broad Ave.
