Maybe it's because LSU would have made the 12 team playoff a total of 2 times over the past 12 years and one of those would have been barely.
During that time LSU has lost a minimum of 3 regular seasons games with the exception of 2019 every year. The best thing LSU is good at right now is getting over-ranked to start the season.
It's been so bad at LSU you have to pretend entire seasons didn't exist, and you spend more time cheering for other teams than you do your own.

This was the problem and annoyance with fans from outside the conference. Over half the conference dick rides 1-2 teams and chants “sec,sec,sec” even when their team isn’t playing in a game and points to another teams success as if it were their own.
I’m glad to be in the sec with the brands and tradition but could care less how the rest of the conference does in the post season

It's all wrong. Tennessee has won a BCS championship. Texas has. Florida has. Oklahoma has. Auburn has. LSU has. LSU has won a playoff championship. Georgia has.

The SEC wasn't considered the dominate conference during most of that. Especially since Oklahoma and Texas weren't in the SEC and their most recent championship anyway is 2005.
Florida and LSU started to get the SEC more respect in the 2000's, but both fell off over 10 years ago.

Yeah, what Alabama really needed in 2020 was adding cupcakes like northwestern St and other G5 teams.
