Yeah QB Jon Brittenum left the game with a shoulder injury in the second quarter. Arkansas lost 14-7 but I'm sure that injury caused Arkansas to choke.

You were #2 and LSU wasn't even top 10. And #1 Michigan State lost in the Rose Bowl.

AP given titles before the bowls was absurd.
Agreed. The media sucks whether it's sports or politics or local news. Another factor back in those days was the sports media bias in favor of northern teams. Especially the Big 10 and Notre Dame. Didn't matter if it was the polls or the voting for the Heisman or for All Americans. There was a blatant bias for the northern teams and against the southern teams which was primarily the SEC back then. The biasness lasted until the about 90's IMO. It's not as bad now as it used to be.

The problem with the AP is the writers can have bias which was shown with the northern media against southern teams. It is why teams like Notre Dame always had an advantage because the bigger cities always favored them and that caused other teams to be left out. The 1977 year is a good example of the bias when it should have been split national titles.

When the starting QB is out for the game then that changes the offense. Arkansas scored on the opening drive but once Jon Brittenum got hurt then they couldn't score. I don't see a choke when they weren't at full strength.

Frank Broyles is way too low on this list. These are all good coaches , but what Broyles did for our program is ridiculous.
Not to mention the assistant coaches he churned out who won ncaa and nfl titles.
I shutter to think where our program, in all sports, would be without him.

There are some people who deserve a look not being mentioned.
Frank Kush, Chris Alt, Terry Donahue. Not saying they 100% should be on this but I'm not sure I really think all 10 of them dudes were better.
Also, John Cooper can suck a dick. He road the coattails of better men.

I can't see Saban doing any better than Bill at Kansas State and I don't certainly see him taking that job.
Y’all are giving way too much credit to Snyder by comparing him in any way to Saban.

So do you think Saban could have done it better at Kansas State than Snyder?

I see that a hell of a lot easier than Snyder winning 7 national titles (playing for 3 others) at LSU and Bama.
