I would think fan rankings in USA today easily out trump a random website by a random blogger named Estaban, who basically listed them as;

Buffaloes
Bulldogs
Birds
Horses
Rams

My favorites...
Mike the tiger when yall had him sideline before games. I was in Bama section in my first game at Tiger Stadium. Watching Bama run out onto the field near him was pretty cool...
Smokey - met smoke before a game in Knoxville. Seemed a pretty cool laid back dog. At preface when smokey ran out on the field I witnessed him almost biting the head off our kicker. Took two Tennessee cheerleaders to hold him back.
Aubie does seem to put on a good show. Never seen the eagle tho. Went to 2010 iron bowl in Auburn but I did see the eagle flight cause the dad of the girl I was dating got us counterfeit tickets. Had to pay someone to let us sneak in.

Im sorry but Lassie doesn't belong in the top 13 of the SEC. It's a pu$$y dog, if you put it in a steel cage match against any of the other live mascots it would get killed. Even the eagle and the chicken would mangle lassie.

In my opinion, a poll of thousands of fans from one of the largest online/ newspapers in the world... is a better judge than a random blogger, his has no fact to back it up, just one mans opinion, thousands of opinions is better.

I'm just saying that a fan poll is a better judge than 1 blogger. that's like taking SDS or Bleacher report as actual journalism.
Go back and read his blog , he didn't make any difference between the different macots, just if you were a tiger or lion you were at the top and if you were a collie or hound at the bottom.
It's hard to argue that Mike is not cool, but he has him behind the North Alabama lions ( #1).
