No kidding. Seems like all the great radio guys have moved on. Eli is very good, but he is the last of them.

As bitter as this tastes, Wes Durham at Tech is as good as any.

Ever.

IMO.

Top of my head, from games I actually watched...

1996 Georgia-Auburn game. Georgia won 56-49 in four OTs. It was the SEC's first overtime game.

1985 Alabama-Auburn game. Mike Shula's no-timeout drive leading to Van Tiffin's kick as time expired.

2007 LSU-Kentucky. Kentucky, behind an epic day for Andre Woodson, stuns LSU in triple OT.

1988 LSU-Auburn. Tommy Hodson TD lifts LSU to last second 7-6 win. The Earth Moved.

1980 "Lindsay Scott! Lindsay Scott! Lindsay Scott!"

LSU/Ole Miss '59 with the Billy Cannon run has to be in the mix, but probably not many here actually watched it, but only highlight of the run.

1988 AU @ LSU The Earthquake game! One of the best!

Another is Bama @ LSU on November 6, 1971. Bama won 14-7, but it was a great game. I was in the stands with my dad and brother.

God. There are just too many to pick only five.

Yeah- I'm an LSU guy, but if it's SEC Football, there's nothing better.

So here's a few that I can recall, personally....

LSU-Bama 1993: A very poor LSU team- in the midst of six-straight losing seasons- goes into Titletown and stops a 7-0-1 Bama squad that was on a 23 game (IIRC) unbeaten streak. To this day, it's still hard to believe.

Auburn-Arkansas 2010: Can you say "offense"?

LSU-Bama, 2010: The LSU offense- and Jordan Jefferson- spring to life in the second half to beat a very fine Alabama team. Gutsy playcalling at it's finest.

LSU-UF, 2007: Tigers gamble their way to the win

LSU-Ole Miss, 1986: Yeah- we lost- but it was still one helluva game. Rebs held off a furious late LSU surge that ended with a missed CHIPSHOT FG....

Bama-UGA, 2008

UF-UGA, 1980

LSU-UF, 1982

LSU-Bama, 1982

Bama-Auburn 1981 (Bear breaks the record)

Whew. Maybe more later on....

What if you just limit this to top ten match ups.

The2008 secc stands out.

2003 georia/lsu and

2007 flrida/lsu

Were epic.

At some point in those games I did not care if lsu won-- I just felt lucky to be alive.

Bump. After watching the LSU/Alabama game this year I think it could be considered as one of the top 5 games. JMO.
